Today, we are taking a look at team-by-team with how they played and our overall thoughts on each player on their rosters.
Indiana Elite 2022
Nick Klaiber Nick Klaiber 6'1" | PG Bloomington North | 2022 State IN – 6’1 PG 2022 – Bloomington North (IN)
Klaiber is a quick lead guard with some good size and strength. Played more like a true point guard in this game and looked to get his teammates involved often. Made few nice scores like his turnaround jumper and 3 off the catch. Klaiber is so good at exploding and getting to the rim through contact. Tough all-around but just needs to be a bit more consistent with his scoring. Should see him take his game to another level as he will be a big part of Bloomington North this season.
Julian Norris Julian Norris 6'3" | SG Evansville Bosse | 2022 MO – 6’2 SG 2022 – Evansville Bosse (IN)
Norris is a taller guard that is thin and has a pretty shifty playing style. He was real fast at getting to the rim but had trouble finishing against the bigger post players. His jumper was solid for the most part and showed that with a 3 off the catch and nice step-back 15fter. His athletic ability has looked to have gone up another step. Overall, it looks like his skillset has improved slightly and he should be in for breakout season here soon. Solid guard all-around.
Will Lovings-Watts Will Lovings-Watts 6'5" | SF Jeffersonville | 2022 State IN – 6’4 SF 2022 – Jeffersonville (IN)
Loving-Watts is a big wing that is long and rangy. Really looked to be trying to get his pull-up jumper going as he did that a ton throughout this game and had a couple go in. Still looked to be a tad bit raw but was aggressive the entire game. Looks as though he really excels when he is able to run in transition. With time, he should become a bigger weapon, able to use his skill set a bit more. With all that said, the amount of upside he has is unlimited.
Caedmon Bontrager Caedmon Bontrager 6'8" | PF Leo | 2022 State IN – 6’7 PF 2022 – Lakewood Park Christian (IN)
Bontrager is a big power forward that is solid all-around. Pretty mobile and runs the floor real well. Offense was not really there this game but he was able to snag a ton of rebounds. He has the size and skill to be a good post defender in the long term. Quick feet and can play faced up or as a straight post up. Interested to see what his scoring is like on a regular basis.
Connor Penrod Connor Penrod 6'6" | C DeKalb | 2022 State IN – 6’7 PF 2022 – DeKalb (IN)
Penrod is big forward that plays like a traditional big man. Did not play a ton of minutes but made an impact while he was in, especially on the boards. His best offensive play was his put-back off a missed shot. Bruising type of player that is not afraid to get physical and bang with the other bigs. Would to have liked to see him play a bit more was impressed with him overall.
