Jameel Rideout Jameel Rideout 6'2" | PG Berkmar | 2022 State GA (Discovery, 6-2, PG, Double Trouble Elite 16U) – In an event littered with terrific point guard play Rideout could not be omitted, he shined in all aspects showing truly burgeoning lead guard instincts as a distributor and defender well as an expanding offensive repertoire filled with strong, confident drives and knockdown 3’s, it’s a no-brainer he’ll see his college attention meter broaden after his performance at the Battle and his move to Discovery HS to team in the backcourt with Ian Davis Ian Davis 6'3" | SG Discovery | 2021 State GA and Daveion Teague-Parham is a frightening prospect for Titans opponents.
Navaughn Maise Navaughn Maise 6'6" | PF Discovery | 2021 State GA (Discovery, 6-5, PF, Double Trouble Elite 16U) – Also moving to Discovery is Maise, who leaves Peachtree Ridge and will be another exciting Titan weapon, we already knew of his eye-popping athletic ability, but we’ve seen this summer additions to the offense both off the dribble as well as expansive shooting range, his timing off the floor as a defender and rim protector allows him to both guard bigger players and be a terror getting back off the break, if he didn’t make many radars this summer he’s sure to garner more attention this coming winter.
Ethan Davis Ethan Davis 6'5" | SF Collins Hill | 2023 #238 Nation GA (Collins Hill, 6-5, SF, Georgia Stars 15U) – Davis was one of the weekend’s biggest eye-openers for me, already gifted with a big body he was really active all over the floor, he possesses an advanced inside/outside game already allowing him to step away from the basket but still do a ton of damage in close, he was among the best rebounders in the 15U class absolutely smothering it in spurts at both ends, he was also probably the best passing forward I saw all weekend as he showed it both out in space or as a facilitator off the break, a monster riser who really sees the game with all kinds of versatility and potential.
Chi Shannon Chi Shannon 6'6" | SG Chapel Hill | 2022 State GA (Douglas County, 6-4, Georgia Stars 15U) – The entire Stars roster was men against boys most of the weekend and is filled with guards and wings who shined, Shannon stood out in a feature game with Double Trouble’s 15U studs, his high-flying was hard to miss off the break, but he also had great energy attacking the basket and showed off his defensive chops against DT’s own set of athletes and high-fliers.
Chase Clemmons Chase Clemmons 5'11" | PG Gainesville | 2023 State #275 Nation GA (Mt Vernon Presbyterian, 6-0, Georgia Stars 15U) – Clemmons’ name had been coming up a lot lately in discussions around the gyms and I was glad I finally got a chance to him in live action, he was bottled up early vs DT as any scouting report shows you need to keep the ball out of his hands as much as you can, but once he gets rolling he can change a game with a combination of high-level ballhandling, offensive creativity to go along with deadeye long-range shooting, he’s a match-up problem over the course of an entire game because he will work you to the bone and eventually attack a weak point, his 2nd half performance was everything I’d heard about this exciting PG prospect.
Mier Panoam Mier Panoam 6'2" | CG Norcross | 2023 State GA , Cedric Taylor Cedric Taylor 6'6" | SF Drew Charter | 2023 State GA and Chad Moodie Chad Moodie 6'7" | PF Grayson | 2023 State GA (Double Trouble Elite 15U) – Double Trouble was well represented on most lists of standouts from the Battle and these three were very impressive, Panoam’s strength with the ball was notable as he overpowered everyone guarding him be it on his way to the hole with authority or creating space on the wing, at a solid 6-2 he’s a clever finisher who has polished scoring chops, he’ll be an athletic and exciting addition to Norcross and a sure-fire riser in the 2023 class, Drew Charter’s Taylor is a long 6-4 who sets up at glance to play more of a 4-role at this stage but clearly showed his outside touch and versatility with a confident stroke from 3, also loved his work off the bounce as he attacked the defense in the open floor and makes for a tough guard in the 15U class, another impressive performer for the deep DT crew, Moodie will have a tough time cracking another deep set of frontcourt studs at Grayson this year, but getting to work against that group will only benefit a game whicih already possesses a lot to like, a terrific natural mover at 6-6 with tremendous defensive instincts he can dominate a game at that end or on the glass alone, but then he gets out on the break for an explosive finish or catches it at the foul-line and two-dribbles past you for the hoop and harm, like so many in the DT organization an eye-opening riser who’s skills are hard to miss.
