While I wasn’t able to be live in attendance at the Nets on Fire facility, I was able to catch the action via a live stream on BallerTV. Below are the third set of standout players from the Cream of the Crop Top 30 game.
James Evans, 2024, West Ranch (CA) – The 6-foot-6 forward has a strong frame which he uses to his advantage by getting into the painted area, absorbing contact and finishing around the basket. Evans showed plenty of perimeter skill throughout the camp, as well, complete with half-court and transition ball skills and range to the three-point line.
Jazz Gardner Jazz Gardner 7'0" | C Los Altos | 2023 State #85 Nation CA-S , 2023, Los Altos (CA) – We saw Gardner a good amount of times before and during his freshman season and his upside still remains very high. The 6-foot-11 forward/center has inside-out scoring ability with his touch on the face-up set shot and good footwork and touch around the basket. Gardner is both coordinated and mobile and continues to progress as a rim protector.
Malachi Seely-Roberts Malachi Seely-Roberts 6'8" | SF Lincoln | 2023 State OR , 2023, Yamhill-Carlton (OR) – Roberts proved to be one of the better catch-and-shoot three-point threats in the event. The 6-foot-6 wing has balanced and fundamental shooting mechanics to go along with a smooth release and the ability to get his shot off with little time or space. Roberts will be one to keep an eye on to see if the rest of his offensive skill-set comes along.
Darnell Marcus Fizer, Jr., 2023, Coronado (NV) – The son of former NBA player Marcus Fizer plays with a toughness and physicality in the paint that most prospects his age would shy away from. The 6-foot-5 forward is a high rate offensive and defensive rebounder with a high motor and ability to power up and finish second chance opportunities through contact.
Andrew Meadow, 2023, West Ranch (CA) – Meadow plays with great energy and has some nice pop in his legs that make him a solid offensive and defensive rebounder and transition finisher. The 6-foot-7 forward runs the floor with purpose in transition and uses his speed and athleticism to slash into the paint, rise up and finish through or over contact.
