While I wasn’t able to be live in attendance at the Nets on Fire facility, I was able to catch the action via a live stream on BallerTV. Below are the third set of standout players from the Cream of the Crop Top 30 game.
Isaiah Elohim, 2024, Heritage Christian (CA) – Elohim was one of the more dynamic players in this entire camp and his combination of strength, athleticism and finishing ability were on display in the Top 30 game. The 6-foot-4 wing thrives in transition where he explodes off the floor for finishes in traffic or in the open court. Elohim showed some perimeter shooting prowess off the catch as well.
AJ Johnson, 2023, Taft (CA) – Johnson put his name on the map at last year’s frosh/soph camp due to his all-around feel for the point guard position and that’s still the case as he heads into his sophomore year. The Fresno-native who transferred to Woodland Hills Taft plays with impressive pace, court vision and the willingness to set up teammates for open shots. Johnson, who has sprouted up to 6-feet-3, still prefers to do the majority of his scoring around the basket with his finishing package.
John Mobley, Jr., 2024, (NV) – If there’s one thing to say about Mobley it’s that he’s extremely confident in his offensive skill-set. The 5-foot-11 combo guard, who has yet to decide on a high school destination, has a vast scoring arsenal complete with deep three-point shots, pull-up jumpers off of dribble combos and a nice touch on his floater. Mobley definitely looks to score when he has the ball in his hands and needs to add in that point guard feel and distributing.
Shane Douma-Sanchez, 2023, Del Norte (NM) – Sanchez carries himself with a lot of poise and confidence. The 6-foot point guard embodies the “true PG” type as he’s efficient with his ball handling, passing, and understands how to change speeds to get to his spots. Douma-Sanchez has a great first step when exploding out of the pick-and-roll and gets good lift on his pull-up jumper.
Tyler Rolison Tyler Rolison 6'0" | PG St. Bernard | 2023 State #150 Nation CA-S , 2023, St. Bernard (CA) – Like his St. Bernard teammate, Rolison played big minutes on a high level high school squad and it shows in his feel and basketball IQ. The 6-foot-1 point guard is a strong finisher through contact, changes speeds and direction while keeping good balance and makes the advance pass in transition.
