We’ve also taken the liberty of watching many games via live stream and replay during the “new normal.” Here is a look at five bigs from the class of 2022 who respectively improved their stock throughout August.
Malachi Briscoe | District Basketball Club/St. Mary’s Ryken (MD)
Briscoe popped up on our radar for the first time this summer with District Basketball Club and has been impressive. He is a sneaky athlete who plays above the rim on both ends. It will be interesting to see what type of impact Briscoe can make in the WCAC.
Nick Evans | District Basketball Club/Gonzaga (DC)
Evans is a late-bloomer with tangible upside. His length jumps off the page but so does his patience. Evans has a chance to be a very good two-way player as he continues to develop.
Dut Kuol | New World/National Christian (MD)
Kuol’s size poses a constant threat to his foes. He’s a tall big man who can be disruptive with his length around the basket. Kuol has also impressed with his overall effort. He sprints down the court with purpose on every possession and is good for a few easy buckets as a result.
Stefan Marcelle Stefan Marcelle 6'7" | C Georgetown Prep | 2022 State MD | New World/Georgetown Prep (MD)
Marcelle has grown noticeably since the season ended. He’s used his additional height well to impose himself around the rim. Marcelle is a feared rim-protector, a productive rebounder, and a solid finisher in the paint.
Miles Webb | District Basketball Club/SSSAS (VA)
Webb is not a traditional big man in the sense that his game is not predicated on playing in the paint. He does have considerable length and intriguing size that allows him to match up with bigger opponents. Webb is a versatile player who’s mobility and explosiveness set him apart from his peers.
