We’ve also taken the liberty of watching many games via live stream and replay during the “new normal.” Here is a look at five bigs who respectively improved their stock throughout August.
Caleb Furr Caleb Furr 6'6" | PF Bishop Walsh | 2022 VA | DC Premier /Highland (VA)
Furr has been a catalyst for DC Premier on several occasions this summer. His combination of size and shooting along with his overall effort makes him an attractive prospect to recruit.
Cole Grubbs | Team Richmond/James River (VA)
Grubbs consistently asserted himself with Team Richmond at the I95 Coalition. He is a forceful paint presence who protects the rim, rebounds, and can score efficiently around the basket. Grubbs recently committed to Ursinus College where he is a safe bet to excel.
Bobby Hill Bobby Hill 6'5" | PF Reservoir | 2021 State MD | Team S.T.A.T/Reservoir (MD)
Hill fits the mold of the modern-day big in that he is comfortable playing both ends of the floor on the perimeter, but does not neglect his duties inside of 15-feet. Some traits of his that stand out include his size, mobility, ball skills, coordination, and toughness.
Jonathan Izemef Jonathan Izemef 6'9" | C National Christian | 2021 State MD | New World/National Christian (MD)
Izemef is a two-way enforcer who has thrived on one of the top 17U squads we’ve seen this summer. He sets the tone from the jump with his willingness to compete on both ends. Izemef’s willingness to run the floor hard on every possession is commendable and results in a lot of easy buckets for his team.
Abdou Samb Abdou Samb 6'8" | C Frederick Douglass | 2021 State MD | DC Premier /Douglass (MD)
Samb is quickly putting everything together. We’re seeing the manifestation of that this summer, both through his recruitment and his play on the court. Samb has attracted numerous D1 suitors this summer and should only continue to improve moving forward.
