Over 200 players were participating in this event with, according to the director, there were 188 coaches tuning in and watching online over the weekend.
Here were some of the senior standouts I viewed:
Nathan Bittle C 6’11 Prolific Prep (CA)
-The Oregon native is heading to Prolific Prep for his senior season. He has a smooth stroke to the 3pt line and he is pretty consistent with it considering how big he is. He has legit size, skill and length. He can actually cross over his defender and rise up and hit from deep. You don’t see that too often with his size. He can get into the lane and score it and blocks shots in bunches due to his length and height. He can get stronger but he is a real NBA prospect. He verbally committed to Oregon this week.
Marsalis Roberson Marsalis Roberson 6'5" | SG Bishop O'Dowd | 2021 State #217 Nation CA-N Bishop O’Dowd (CA)
-A versatile 2-way player is an incredible passer and was one of the better defenders at the event. He easily had the block of the event meeting a player at the rim like Bam Adabayo did for the Miami Heat. The lefty is a streaky 3pt shooter but gets into tight space with his nice handle and scores it through contact in the lane. He has great length and he is a quick-twitched athlete playing and defending multiple spots showing his versatility.
Luke Turner Luke Turner 6'8" | SG Santa Margarita Catholic | 2021 State CA-S Santa Margarita (CA)
-A long shooter who keeps getting a little stronger and a little better. He is one of the better shooting forwards on the West Coast. He is creating his own shot way better than he ever has with much improved footwork. He is also sneaky athletic and plays the game the right way.
Isaiah Freeney Isaiah Freeney 6'0" | PG South Mountain | 2021 State AZ South Mountain
-He played like a pure PG this weekend and made everyone around him better. He scored it from the 3 and uses the floater well. He is very shifty and changes speeds do get the defense off balance instead of blowing by his opponents. He talks to his teammates on defense and he is a natural leader.
Sunday John Sunday John 6'3" | SG Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2021 AZ Phhoenix Prep Post Grad (Pictured)
-A 2020 player from Willow Canyon is taking a post grad year to ‘21. He is a dynamic athlete that had one of the better poster dunks of the tourney. His 3-ball is way more improved since last year and he can defend multiple positions. He seems to glide around in the open court and is a fun player to watch with his ability to dunk the ball effortlessly.
Darrell Belcher Darrell Belcher 6'3" | SG Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2021 State AZ Phhoenix Prep Post Grad
-One of the strongest wings in the state. He is like a running back getting downhill. He bounces off of defenders and scores it through contact. The lefty is a streaky shooter that can rattle off shot after shot from the 3pt line. A true warrior on both ends of the court.
Jayson Wiltz CG 6’2 Hillcrest (Riverside/CA)
-A combo guard can score it easily from mid to the 3pt line plus make plays. He pulls-up off the dribble with nice elevation and can score it inside. He is a a sneaky good passer and is a good athlete. He is a really good teammate always encouraging and talking. He rebounds well for a guard.
Tristan Moore Tristan Moore 6'6" | SF Phhoenix Prep Post Grad | 2021 State AZ Phhoenix Prep Post Grad
-A post grad player who moved in from La Cueva/NM. He is a fluid bigger wing who can handle the ball well. He has a nice looking 3pt stroke and he is sneaky athletic. He has good range on his 3 and is pretty tough. His mid-range pull-up off the dribble is money
