After a lot of uncertainty about the summer basketball season, prospects were finally allowed the opportunity to showcase just how much they’ve improved and how much potential they have. Several players were expected to make big leaps in the rankings this summer going into their sophomore seasons, here are a few of those recruits that rose in the ranks and will continue to rise during the high school season.

Pure bucket getter, knockdown catch-and-shoot player with a natural smooth stroke, and a quick high release. Adkins is coming off of a season where he averaged 10 points per game as a freshman. He displays great scoring instincts, whenever the ball touches his hands he immediately looks for an opportunity to score, always knowing exactly when to drive the lane, when to pull-up, and when to catch and shoot. Carmelo’s IQ is noteworthy as well, he has a strong knack for finding flaws in the defense and exploiting them. I think it’s safe to say that

is on his way to becoming the best shooter of his class in the state. He’s mastering the art of the jump shot, his mechanics are fluid, his touch is soft, his release is quick, his feet and shoulders are squared with the basket at all times, and his elevation along with his height allows him to get his shot off over any contesting defender. Shore doesn’t always need the ball to be effective, he uses screens well and makes hard, sharp cuts in order to get open. Riley is also able to make quick moves off the bounce to get to his spots in the mid-range for a pull-up jumper.
