Continue ReadingPrep Hoops Colorado recently updated its class of 2022 rankings, and this is one of our favorite classes as it is full of gym rats who want to get better, and there will continue to be shifts made to this class.
This is a class that we have seen the most of with tournaments, private workouts, underground runs, and plenty of BallerTV.
Let’s take a look at the newest Top-5.
Langston Reynolds Langston Reynolds 6'4" | CG Colorado Prep | 2022 State #172 Nation CO – Colorado Prep
Reynolds made the switch to Colorado Prep and will be playing on the Grind Session and is a player that I think will seize the opportunity. His style of play should excel in a prep school setting as he is an athletic two-way star that gives you scoring, playmaking, and lockdown defense. In Reynolds’ sophomore season for Denver East, Reynolds was a go-to player that averaged a stat-stuffing 17.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.8 steals a game for one of the balanced lines across the state. Reynolds is a natural scorer who is best in the open court and out and running. He refuses to be stopped in isolation situations and is an elite passer with pure athleticism. Reynolds is an aggressive scoring option but has excellent court awareness and a willing passer. He again comes in as the No.1 player in the class and will have to continue to elevate his game.

Zach Keller Zach Keller 6'9" | PF ThunderRidge | 2022 State #81 Nation CO – ThunderRidge
Keller is the player that you are going to want to know and for the people that saw him this summer, know that he is an elite talent with a high ceiling. Keller went from a relatively unknown player as he was off the grid for the high school season due to being injured to now being a feared paint-beast that gets after it. When motivated and engaged, there are not many other options as unstoppable as Keller. He has great size at 6’8 and an improved motor, which has allowed him to dominate for a longer duration. He has excellent footwork, an improving back to the basket game, and also confidently shoots the mid-range extended jumper. In the open court, he is going for dunks and putbacks and is a force on defense that protects the paint. Once he adopts the mindset that he cannot be easily stopped and decides to take over on every single possession, he will be a player that every school is after. He already has Division I interest from a few schools as it is, and with a big year upcoming, we will see that number grow.
Class of 2022 6’9 F Zach Keller (Thunder Ridge, CO) is a HM player. He is tough & strong on the block. He can step out & hit the 15-foot jump shot as well as the 3-ball. Efficient in the pick n’ roll. D1 game at both ends. Get on him early. @JUCOadvocate @TRidgeGrizzlies pic.twitter.com/QUe3ibkmcv

Brock Wisne Brock Wisne 6'9" | PF Colorado Prep | 2022 State CO – Colorado Prep
Wisne is a talented young player with a high ceiling that continues to progress with his game. Wisne’s game is adapting from a score-only option that snagged nearly every board that came his way to a balanced threat that can hurt teams in various ways. Wisne is a 6’7 versatile forward that can play multiple positions. He puts the ball on the floor, has an improved jump shot and excellent footwork and strength that allows him to score inside as well. He makes the switch to Colorado Prep from Horizon after averaging a double-double of 16 points and 10 boards for the season. Wisne is a solid long-term wing prospect with good size and defensive potential. He should begin to assert himself as a two-way player in the Grind session as he will be surrounded by like-minded scorers that can put points up on the board. How he plays off of the ball will be critical. He will have to do the dirty work, such as continuing to crash the boards, setting hard screens, moving without the ball, and becoming a lockdown defender. This summer for Colorado Roughriders, Wisne showed he could be all of those things and more, and as long as he continues to love the game and want to progress, then I see him progressing in every aspect. He comes in at No. 3 in the class.
@BrockWisne with a definite @9Preps Honor Roll dunk from Friday night's matchup with Monarch. Let's go Hawks!!! #HawkNation pic.twitter.com/Js1d6FJGYk

Boubacar Mboup Boubacar Mboup 6'10" | C Colorado Prep | 2022 State CO – Colorado Prep
Mboup is a bull in a china shop, but in a good way. He will be a welcomed addition to what Colorado Prep is building over there because he has the size at 6’10 but is also a highly active big with great touch around the rim. We saw him at the Pangos Best of Colorado League, and opposing teams had no answer for his size. He put up big numbers in the league as he could not be stopped in the paint. He used a variety of post moves to finish over smaller players at the rim and also made opposing guards think twice about heading to the rim as he protected the paint. He scores with ease is a bruiser down low, and has great size and upside as he continues to grow his game. Mboup does not shy away from contact and initiates most of it as he uses his size. He is confident and mobile. He currently holds an offer from Bryant and will continue to see his stock grow as he gets out there and plays more. He comes in at No. 4 in the class.
Boubacar Mboup (@boubacar_mboup) 6’10 problem u gotta check out👀. He’s making a name for himself on the hoop scene @ColoradoPrep_ @PangosAACamp. Looking forward to seeing him this szn @thegrindsession 🗣📈⏳.#TBT 🎥 last summer in Senegal @seedproject 🇸🇳🖤✊🏾 pic.twitter.com/YbdBe20PyS

Jaeton Hackley Jaeton Hackley 5'11" | PG Douglas County | 2022 State CO – Douglas County
Hackley is a player that I have grown to love. I knew that he was good, but seeing him closely and in different settings, he has the makings to be one of if not the most skilled player in the entire class. Hackley is a smooth operator who makes the game look simple. He takes what the defense gives him as a scorer and is efficient in how he operates. He can shoot the ball at a high clip and is one of the best floor generals in the state who creates easy scoring opportunities for others. In only his sophomore season, Hackley averaged a team-high 14.2 points and had 3.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists to go along with it. Opposing guards knew that if Hackley was on their schedule that it was going to be a long night, and he would have his moments. He is now starting to get better, and you can see a light clicking for him as he is a high IQ guard that is engaged on both ends of the floor. This summer for the Colorado Hawks and in private sessions, we have seen that he is an ultimate competitor. He plays with a controlled aggression that translates on both ends of the court, and he does not back down from any challenges. He is a player that I am high on and am starting to see the stock grow. He enters the Top-5 after having a solid season and summer.
