In today’s piece, I breakdown 5 specific guys that college coaches should know of at the D2, NAIA, and D3 levels. Let’s see who is the next diamond in the rough.
Camren Miles Camren Miles 6'2" | SG Lima Senior | 2022 State OH (Lima Senior)- Tough nosed player on a very good Lima Senior and C2K team. Has a stronger build for a 6’1 guard but knows how to use his body on both ends of the floor. Plays with more of a slashing mentality and can beat guys to the paint with his quickness. We will be interested to see how he performs this upcoming year without the 2020 class to help.
Dylan Thompson Dylan Thompson 6'2" | SG Buckeye Valley | 2022 State OH (Buckeye Valley)- Thompson plays with a lot of hustle and heart and showed it during AAU with JH1 Elite this past Summer. 6’2 lengthy wing that overall is everywhere on the floor. Fits in well with a young, defensive Buckeye Valley team.
Drew Panning Drew Panning 6'8" | C Hilliard Darby | 2022 State OH (Westland)- Panning is an intriguing prospect. At 6’4, he is bigger for a wing but could be a possible inside-out player with added bulk and work on the interior. For now, Drew has nice size and the name of the game for him is the midrange shot. Quick trigger and gets decent looks. Will need to step into a larger role at Westland if they are to see success this Winter.
Cooper Davis Cooper Davis 6'5" | SG Olentangy Liberty | 2022 State OH (Olentangy Liberty)- Davis comes over to Liberty from Reynoldsburg and brings with him a very good shooting touch. At 6’5, he has a size advantage on guards on the perimeter. Confident to take shots from anywhere on the floor. Will likely be more of a role player for Liberty as he doesn’t have out-of-the-gym athleticism, but can easily give a team a solid shooting threat on any given night.
Tyler Ganley Tyler Ganley 6'2" | CG Brecksville-Broadview Heights | 2022 State OH (Brecksville-Broadview Heights)- Ganley struggled when I watched him this Summer, but there is no denying he is still one of the better prospects out of NE Ohio in the 2022 class. Solid shooter at 6’3 and shown he can pull up from virtually anywhere beyond the arc. Unselfish teammate that can be a pass-first player as well with his high basketball IQ. We will look to see how Ganley starts out his junior campaign and if he is able to add on to his offer list.
