Our new #1 comes back to Ohio after spending a year at Western Reserve Academy while these other players emerge after strong showings this Summer. Two of the players below played up on 17U teams and have shown they can compete with the older competition. Take a look below at our newest players!
Chris Livingston Chris Livingston 6'6" | SF Oak Hill Academy | 2022 State #9 Nation VA Buchtel (#1)- There may not be many players in the State that can match Livingston’s incredible athleticism. At 6’6 Livingston is an absolute nightmare on the perimeter and can use his size and quick handle to find the paint. Known to be an explosive player, Livingston dunks over players with seemingly little effort to elevate. Showed us an improved shooting touch especially off the bounce and 3PT extended. Transferring back to Buchtel for the Winter and considered one of the best prospects in the country.
Drey Carter Drey Carter 6'8" | PF Westerville South | 2022 State OH Westerville South (#52)- Carter brings length at 6’7 and versatility as he is able to do a little bit of everything. Impressing throughout the Summer, Carter will have an opportunity to be leader for the Wildcats as a Junior and could continue to attract collegiate attention with his skillset.
Jacob Pleiman Jacob Pleiman 6'6" | PF Botkins | 2022 State OH Botkins (#67)- Pleiman has a stockier build and is one of the more unknown PFs in Ohio due to his location at Botkins. Has a great feel around the rim and shown he can finish consistently. Strong upper body and uses his frame to finish shots through traffic. Cleans up the glass and capable of getting 2nd chance points. Very unselfish with the ball in his hand and willing to distribute as needed.
Kobe Peck Kobe Peck 6'0" | PG Lakota East | 2022 State OH Lakota East (#70)- Peck missed part of the season last year due to a knee injury but looked back to normal this Summer. Coming from a Lakota East program that prides itself in fundamental defensive players, Kobe continues this tradition as he has a ton of speed and gets from end to end quickly. Can defend either guard positions and has some of the better footwork as a perimeter defender. Can facilitate an offense and possesses the ball well. Should be a target for NAIA programs.
KeAndre Kindell KeAndre Kindell 6'0" | PG Reading | 2022 OH Reading (#72)- Played up this season on a team of 2021s with Shining Star s. Incredibly impressive as an offensive player. Explosive on the perimeter and getting out in transition. Unreal quickness when penetrating and gets a change in direction with his speed and handle. The fact he played a year up is impressive and Kindell will have an opportunity to be one of the best players on this Reading team this Winter.
Danny Austing Danny Austing 6'0" | SG Taylor | 2022 State OH Taylor (#90)- Very active defender at 6’0. Can lockdown the perimeter and uses his reach and active hands to create issues as a defender. Offensively, shown he can be a threat on the drive and specifically gets downhill very quickly once getting in the lane. He could be a steal at the D3 level and could see his stock rise if he continues to show improvement in his overall offensive game.
Dasan Doucet Dasan Doucet 6'4" | SF Fairmont | 2022 State OH Fairmont (#109)- If you’ve read my previous pieces, you know Doucet is one of the biggest stock risers in the Dayton area and rightfully deserves a spot in the rankings. Played up a year with Hopson Elite this Summer and held his own. Solid frame at 6’4 and continuing to improve his overall offensive game. Will become even more dangerous if he can develop a consistent jump shot. D3 target in the Dayton area.
