Jaleen Goodman 5’7″ PG | Summer Creek
“J5” may be small in stature but he is a big playmaker and had a really good summer. He played up a level on the 17U level the entire summer for Drive Nation Houston. He is a blur with the ball in his hands and is always able to beat his man off the dribble. When he gets going he is a tough assignment. If he becomes a more consistent point guard as a facilitator it will help him go a long way. Quick laterally and keeps his opponent in front of him. Lacks physical strength and size to guard bigger guards, but it will be interesting to watch this prospect play on the varsity level this year for his high school squad.
Dylan Glover Dylan Glover 6'4" | SG PSAT Academy | 2023 State TX 6’3″ SG | Bryan
Dylan has added some athleticism to his game over the summer. He is starting to play above the rim. He has a solid handle on the ball and is a big-time shot-maker from the perimeter. He played on the 17U level all summer splitting time between RL9 Elite and Texas Impact 3:14. He was instrumental to both programs in what he brought to the game. His toughness and determination to get better and make players better around him is infectious and brought about a great atmosphere. He has gotten quicker also defensively which will help in his recruiting. Look for this prospect to have a big season this year.
R.J. Sears 6’2″ PG | Hardin Jefferson
Sears is a strong guard that gets things done. He has a long wingspan and is very strong for a guard. A good solid handle on the ball and reads the defense very well to showcase his offensive IQ. He can be a bit of a bully when attacking off the dribble and finishes through contact at the rim. His outside jumper continues to improve which makes him more of a threat offensively. A tough on-ball defender and a willing rebounder. I expect this prospect to have a big season this year and to get on some college coaches’ radars.
Kaleb Pouncy 6’7″ F | Atascocita
Kaleb “Bouncy” is what a lot of people call this uber-athletic wing player. He is very solid from the short corner. He is a tweener at the forward positions at this time, which should be solidified by the end of his junior season this year. He runs the lanes really well and has great hands. Finishes above the rim on every chance that he gets. He is a shot-blocker as well who has great timing and holds down the paint. He has a slender frame in which he can add muscle to get stronger and faster. He has a mid-range game also. He had a really big summer playing on the 16U level and it will be interesting to see what his role and playing time will be on the varsity level this year on a loaded team.
Ziyan Ali 6’2″ PG | A&M Consolidated
Ziyan is a lead guard with a high offensive IQ. He also can score the ball on all three levels. A strong handle on the ball and gets everyone involved on the offensive side of the ball. He is very vocal on the court and from the bench. Has a good motor. He will be a key factor this season as the starting PG on his varsity squad. Once he improves on his speed and quickness it will make him more of a threat offensively and give him that added defensive prowess that he lacks at times. He is still one of the prospects to keep a close on this season.
