BJ Freeman BJ Freeman 6'6" | SF Moravian Prep | 2021 State NC | 6’6 | Moravian Prep National
After a productive season at Clayton High School, Freeman heads to Moravian Prep where he’ll certainly be a breakout name. He has the ability to make plays for himself and others with the ball in his hands and is good for getting the ball off the rim on defense and running the break with his versatility. He makes the game look simple in a number of ways and is really coming along as a defender.
Eric Van Der Heijden Eric Van Der Heijden 6'9" | SF Millbrook | 2021 State #235 Nation NC | 6’9 | Millbrook
Van Der Heijden lived and flourished on the wing at Millbrook this past season shooting the 3-ball and dishing to his teammates. He averaged 12.0 ppg, 5.6 rpg and 4.0 apg as a junior in the Millbrook rotation while shooting 45 percent from 3-point land. He’s also an underrated slasher that can finish with authority. We should see a lot more of that this season from him. He’s headed to Louisville when he completes his final season at Millbrook in 2020-21.
Chris Ford Chris Ford 6'5" | SF North Mecklenburg | 2021 State NC | 6’5 | North Mecklenburg
Ford was a member of the Co-4A state champions and should be part of a solid rotation that will also feature Jeremy Gregory Jeremy Gregory 6'8" | PF Oak Hill Academy | 2022 State NC in 2020-21, a top 2022 prospect. He is a prospect that can play multiple positions on the floor given his strength and skillset as an inside-out threat. He’ll be one of the senior leaders in the rotation that will be relied upon for his offensive and defensive contributions. He’s headed to Davidson University after his senior season.
Redford Dunton Redford Dunton 6'6" | SF Millbrook | 2021 State NC | 6’6 | Millbrook
Dunton is an emerging forward that will finish his high school career at Millbrook High School after spending time at Heritage in the past seasons. He produced 16.4 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 2.4 apg in the Heritage rotation as a junior and after having a productive summer on the grassroots scene with Garner Road 3SSB, he found himself committed to Purdue Fort-Wayne. He’s an inside-out threat that finds ways to make plays and secure rebounds when he’s on the floor and should be a solid prospect to have alongside Eric Van Der Heijden Eric Van Der Heijden 6'9" | SF Millbrook | 2021 State #235 Nation NC .
Daniel Nixon Daniel Nixon 6'7" | SF Winston-Salem Christian | 2021 State NC | 6’7 | Winston-Salem Christian
Nixon is a new face in the state after spending time at The Hill School in Pennsylvania. He’s a well-known name to some colleges already and holds a number of offers from some D1 programs. He’s a versatile forward that can operate on all three levels but has a knack for attacking the rim and shooting the 3-ball at a high rate. He’s an active defender that likes to force turnovers and get out on the break for easy points. He holds offers from Iowa, Tulsa, Wichita State, Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Georgetown and East Carolina.
Ben Burnham Ben Burnham 6'8" | SF Carmel Christian | 2021 State NC | 6’6 | Carmel Christian
Burnham is another prospect in the Small Forwards that’s committed already to the next level, heading to Winthrop after his senior season. He’s a prospect that’s emerged as a two-way threat on the floor given his ability to protect the rim and defend the paint and score off the bounce on offense. He’s a versatile player that can do a little bit of everything on the floor and makes his presence felt, as he should at Carmel Christian this upcoming season.
Noah Allred Noah Allred 6'6" | SF Bishop McGuiness | 2021 State NC | 6’6 | Bishop McGuiness
Allred is already a standout on the football field but it doesn’t stop there for him as he’ll be a name to watch in the Bishop McGuiness rotation in 2020-21. He’s an athletic prospect that likes to get to the rim and battle for boards. Given his size, he has the ability to play either forward position and strictly in the post, depending on mathups. He’ll be a name to watch in the Greensboro area.
Akhiris Holden Akhiris Holden 6'5" | SF Henderson Collegiate | 2021 State NC | 6’4 | Henderson Collegiate
Holden is due for a breakout senior season in the Henderson Collegiate rotation alongside Javonte Waverly Javonte Waverly 6'3" | CG Henderson Collegiate | 2021 State NC . The Pride were co-1A State Champions this past season with Waverly, Holden and Queens-bound guard Kalib Matthews Kalib Matthews 6'4" | CG Henderson Collegiate | 2020 State NC running the show. The departure of Matthews certainly leaves the door open for Holden to build on the season he had last year that saw him produce 12.8 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.6 bpg, 1.3 spg and 1.3 apg.
Jacob Morgan Jacob Morgan 6'6" | SF Moravian Prep | 2021 State NC | 6’5 | Moravian Prep Regional
Morgan will be a new face at Moravian Prep after having a productive spring/summer with Carolina Riptide and 2019-20 campaign at Pine Lake Prep. He produced 19.1 ppg and 6.4 rpg while shooting 32 percent from 3-point range in 2019-20. He’s really gotten more deliberate with the ball in his hands at getting to the rim and is also quite the efficient 3-point shooter. Look for his name to grow on the Moravian Prep Regional squad. University of Lynchburg and Mars Hill have offered so far.
Ryan Maslow Ryan Maslow 6'5" | SF Fuquay Varina | 2021 State NC | 6’5 | Fuquay-Varina
Maslow has been a growing name in the PrepHoops ranks so it’s no surprise to see him finish out the Top 10 Small Forward prospects. He’ll be a solid option to have in the frontcourt alongside Mayar Wol Mayar Wol 6'8" | SF Word of God | 2023 State #157 Nation NC and guard Darius Briley Darius Briley 6'0" | PG Fuquay Varina | 2021 State NC . He’s got a strong frame he uses well to battle on both ends and can fill it up in bunches around the rim. His name should grow in the Raleigh area over the next few months.
