Bobby Pettiford Bobby Pettiford 6'1" | PG South Granville | 2021 State #115 Nation NC | 6’1 | South Granville
Pettiford will be a name to watch as South Granville looks to make a deep return to the 2A State Playoffs. He had a strong summer with Tea Marie Hoops which culminated with his commitment to the University of Louisville. He put up 21.8 ppg, 7.4 apg, 6.0 rpg and 2.9 spg as a junior as they went 30-1 on the year. He’ll be a name to watch on the public school scene alongside Collin Tanner Collin Tanner 6'6" | SF Combine Academy | 2023 State NC .
Carter Whitt Carter Whitt 6'2" | PG Leesville Road | 2021 State #64 Nation NC | 6’3 | Leesville Road (Wake Forest)
Whitt is another top playmaker in the 2021 class, though he’s headed to Wake Forest early where he’ll certainly turn around their fortunes in the backcourt. He had a number of games this past season where he showed he knows how to put his team in position to win games. He’s an electric prospect that can score on all three levels and is just scratching the surface of his overall game. Look for him to become a name in the ACC at the next level.
Jamarii Thomas Jamarii Thomas 6'1" | PG The Burlington School | 2021 State NC | 6’1 | The Burlington School
Thomas is a floor general that’s really come on as more than just a lead guard with Team Curry this past spring/summer. He’s proven he can dish the ball, defend at a high level and impact the game in more ways than just his scoring, while he still can score at a high level. He’s begun hearing from Coastal Carolina, Tulsa, NC A&T, UNC-Asheville, and UNC-Wilmington with offers already from Winthrop, Stetson, Georgia Southwestern, UNC-Pembroke and Mars Hill. He’ll boost a Burlington School rotation that boasts the likes of Kuluel Mading Kuluel Mading 6'10" | C The Burlington School | 2021 State NC and Kobe George Kobe George 6'3" | PG Winston-Salem Christian | 2023 #213 Nation NC among others in 2020-21.
Breon Pass Breon Pass 6'1" | PG Reidsville | 2021 State #193 Nation NC | 6’1 | Reidsville
Pass is a point guard who leads by example on the floor. He flies around on defense forcing turning overs and looks to overwhelm the defense on the other end with his athleticism and shooting stroke. He put up 21.1 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 7.3 apg and 3.2 spg for Reidsville as a junior and has really grown on the grassroots circuit with Tea Marie Hoops this spring/summer. He’ll make his college decision on Saturday between Georgia Tech, NC State, Providence and East Carolina.
Cedric Patterson Cedric Patterson 6'0" | PG Bull City Prep | 2022 State NC | 6’1 | Moravian Prep National
Patterson will be a new face in the Moravian Prep backcourt and is due for a boost in his recruitment with his ability to create for himself and others off the dribble. He spent time alongside Josh Massey (West Carolina) and Mike Dudley Mike Dudley 6'5" | SG Combine Academy | 2021 State NC (College of Charleston) at United Faith Christian Academy. He’s patient with the ball in his hands, even under pressure, and uses his length well to get to the paint and make things happen. He’s been in heavy contact with Cornell over the past few weeks.
Tyler Gill Tyler Gill 6'0" | PG Trinity Academy (Raleigh) | 2021 State NC | 6’0 | Trinity Academy (Raleigh)
Gill is an underrated point guard that can quietly fill up the stat sheet with his ability to create for others, score off the bounce and rebound the ball. He led Trinity on a deep run in the NCISAA Playoffs and took home Tri-TAC Conference Player of the Year honors by season’s end. He’ll be a solid piece in the backcourt for Towson at the next level. He’ll be a leader of a solid group at Trinity in 2020-21.
Cole Sinclair Cole Sinclair 6'1" | PG Winston-Salem Christian | 2022 State NC | 6’1 | Durham Academy
Sinclair is another underrated point guard at Durham Academy. He put up 16.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg and 1.5 apg in 2019-20 at the off-guard position but with some departures in the backcourt, he’ll be the floor general for them in 2020-21. He was a first-team All-State performer as well as TISAC Player of the Year this past season. He can fill it up in a hurry and has a winner’s mentality when he’s on the floor. His recruitment has started picking up as the summer concludes.
Chase Hakerem Chase Hakerem 5'8" | PG Leesville Road | 2021 State NC | 5’8 | Leesville Road
Hakerem is a point guard that uses his speed well to get up under defenders and make them uncomfortable. Offensively, as he learns to be more aggressive shooting on all three levels and getting to the rim, he’ll start to get more attention from college coaches. He’s due for a strong year as the point guard for Leesville Road in 2020-21.
Chris Daniels Chris Daniels 6'1" | PG Millbrook | 2021 State NC | 6’1 | Millbrook
Daniels was a key reserve off the bench at Millbrook and 2019-20 and should be a name in their starting rotation in 2020-21. He’s a prospect that can go under the radar and turn heads with what he can do on both ends. He gets going in a hurry especially on the defensive end, pressuring the ball and staying active. Look for him to flourish in a rotation of Redford Dunton Redford Dunton 6'6" | SF Millbrook | 2021 State NC and Eric Van der Heijden.
Tedric Jenkins Tedric Jenkins 5'10" | PG North Davidson | 2021 State NC | 5’9 | North Davidson
Jenkins makes up half of one of the top backcourts in high school alongside Jamarien Dalton Jamarien Dalton 6'2" | CG North Davidson | 2021 State NC , who’s headed to Elon to play football. They’ll give a ton of teams problems in 2020-21, Jenkins with his ability to get to the rim and shoot the ball. He’s due for a boost in his recruitment for teams in need of a point guard.
