Terquavion Smith Terquavion Smith 6'3" | CG Farmville Central | 2021 State #105 Nation NC | 6’3 | Farmville Central
Smith is a prospect that gets after it in a hurry as soon as he touches the floor. He looks to fill it up, especially from 3-point range, with volume on the offensive end and uses his length well to attack the rim. Defensively, he looks to block shots in the paint and defend at a high level on the perimeter. He’s been a member of a top high school in the state for the past two seasons that’s seen them win back-to-back state titles. He’ll be an upgrade in the NC State backcourt at the next level once he’s done at Farmville Central.
D’Marco Dunn D’Marco Dunn 6'4" | CG Westover | 2021 State #75 Nation NC | 6’4 | Westover
Dunn is an emerging prospect that exploded on the stage with Westover High School this past season, posting 20.4 ppg, 7.2 rpg and 2.7 spg in 2019-20. He also made an appearance on the grassroots stage with Garner Road 3SSB, where he showed off his ability to score on all three levels and defend using his length and quickness. He’s down to a final seven of UNC, Arizona, Georgia, Clemson, Louisville, Vanderbilt and Texas.
Daylen Berry Daylen Berry 6'4" | CG Panther Creek | 2021 State NC | 6’4 | Panther Creek
Berry is an emerging guard that can play either position with his ability to make the right play and keep the offense flowing. He put up 17.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 2.2 spg, 1.7 apg and 1.5 bpg as a junior. His most underrated trait might be his ability to block shots on the defensive end. He’s got nice length and athleticism to go along with his guard skill set as well. He’s due to make his commitment on Sept. 29 with offers from St. John’s, Florida International, ETSU, Wofford, NC Central and George Mason, among others.
Brock Williams Brock Williams 6'0" | CG Burlington Christian | 2021 State NC | 6’0 | Greensboro Day School
Williams is a combo guard that’s grown over the last few years as more than just a scoring guard. He’s gotten stronger in the weight room and a lot more serious on the defensive end, which has added to his skill set. He’s due to lead a strong group at Greensboro Day School with his ability to score from anywhere on the floor and create off the bounce. He’s headed to High Point after his final season with Greensboro Day School.
Terence Harcum Terence Harcum 6'1" | CG Granville Central | 2021 State NC | 6’1 | Granville Central
Harcum is an electric guard with good instincts scoring on all three levels. He’s a 2,000-point scorer at Granville Central that produced 25.9 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 6.8 apg and 4.3 spg in 2019-20. He’s a strong backcourt mate alongside Jamarii Mann, who’s also due for a big senior campain. Harcum is a stat sheet stuffer with the ability to make plays on both ends with his relentless motor. He’s headed to Appalachian State after his senior season.
PJ Edwards PJ Edwards 6'5" | CG Liberty Heights | 2021 State NC | 6’5 | Liberty Heights
Edwards is a new face in the 2021 rankings and was a marquee name with Team Curry on the grassroots scene in the backcourt and elsewhere. Given his size, he has the ability to play more than just the guard spot, making him an asset when put in good situations. He’ll be a name to keep an eye on alongside Elijah Jamison Elijah Jamison 6'3" | PG Liberty Heights | 2022 State #204 Nation NC in the Liberty Heights’ backcourt in 2020-21. He’s starting to hear from Georgia and Cincinnati, most recently.
Javonte Waverly Javonte Waverly 6'3" | CG Henderson Collegiate | 2021 State NC | 6’3 | Henderson Collegiate
Waverly is an electric prospect in the backcourt that uses his length and speed well to create off the bounce. He posted 16.2 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 4.2 apg and 1.9 spg for Henderson Collegiate as they won co-2A State Title bragging rights when things were cut short. He’s an efficient scorer that shot 50 percent from the field and gets after it on the defensive end. He holds offers from Elon and UNC-Greensboro.
Jaden Cooper Jaden Cooper 6'3" | CG Wayne Country Day | 2021 State NC | 6’3 | Wayne Country Day
Cooper has really come along as more than just a point guard given his ability to shoot it from deep and defend the basketball. He emerged in the Flight 22 rotation as one of their top defenders and distributors this past spring/summer and is due for a strong season at Wayne Country Day in 2020-21. He’s headed to Columbia when he completes his senior season.
Trae Benham Trae Benham 6'3" | CG Concord First Assembly | 2021 State NC | 6’3 | Concord First Assembly
Benham is an emerging prospect that can play multiple positions given his strength and frame. He’s a prototypical “big guard” and likes to work through traffic to get to the paint and finish around the rim. Defensively, he also has the ability to guard a number of positions and competes on the boards as well. He’s headed to Lipscomb after his senior season concludes.
Justin Taylor Justin Taylor 6'3" | CG Carmel Christian | 2021 State NC | 6’3 | Carmel Christian
Taylor is due for a boost in his recruitment given the path he’s decided to take. He’ll be a tough shooting option to stop in the Carmel Christian rotation with his ability to shoot it from deep and get to the rim. He’ll use a development year at Hargrave Military Academy when this year concludes. He holds offers from Charleston Southern, Winthrop, Mount St. Mary’s, Elon, NC A&T and South Florida.
