It is the beginning of the school year and Prep Hoops has just released the first rankings of the year for the 2021 class.

This list is full of new names, stock risers, and tried and true ballers who have proved themselves on the prep scene.

The top five is similar to the one that finished last school year with one exception.  Keon ColemanKeonColeman6'4" | CGOpelousas Catholic | 2021StateLA, from Opelousas Catholic, was the most exciting player on the grassroots circuit and is now the number three rated player.  He will definitely set his sights on the top spot with his downhill driving ability and his tenacious defense to go with the improved range on his jumper.

Rounding out the top five is Derrick TezenoDerrickTezeno6'5" | SFNorth Central | 2021StateLA (North Central), Carlos Stewart, Jr. (Dunham), Daniel OrtizDanielOrtiz6'1" | CGSouthwood | 2021StateLA (Calvary Baptist), and E’maryeon McDonald (Scotlandville).

These rankings are minus Camryn CarterCamrynCarter6'2" | CGEast Ascension | 2021LA, an up-and-coming prospect who was going to compete for a top five spot, has moved on to Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut.  He would have definitely pushed this group mentioned above.
