The Results And Player Breakdowns
Ethan Erickson Ethan Erickson 6'1" | SG Forest Hills Northern | 2021 State MI – Received 5.4% of the vote
Erickson was terrific for a loaded Storm UA Rise team. He’s always been an elite shooter, but it was what he showed in other aspects of his game that impressed me. Erickson was a terrific perimeter passer, even at a fast pace. He was also a tremendous secondary ball handler.
Keyon Menifield Keyon Menifield 6'2" | PG Flint Beecher | 2021 State MI – Received 20.6% of the vote
Menifield was a bona fide monster for UTS Elite this summer. He was a wizard with the ball in his hands and nearly unstoppable in isolation situations. Menifield had defenders tripping over their own feet and he was tremendous in transition.
Kobe Bufkin Kobe Bufkin 6'4" | SG Grand Rapids Christian | 2021 State #71 Nation MI – Received 32.1% of the vote
Bufkin was his smooth self during grassroots season, showing everyone that University of Michigan fans should be very excited about the future. He created off the dribble and rose up quickly on his pull up jumper.
THE GRASSROOTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Linden Holder Linden Holder 6'0" | PG De La Salle | 2021 State MI – Received 41.8% of the vote
Holder was outstanding over the course of grassroots season and is very deserving of the honor of the class of 2021 Grassroots Player of the Year. He was a dynamic and athletic lead guard that could create off the dribble going either way with the ball. He was a crafty and high percentage finisher at the rim. Holder also showed range extending beyond the arc, especially when shooting off the dribble.
