After a standout summer with Tulsa Hawks, there is little to question about McCurdy’s potential. The greatest athletic advantages he was able to lend the Hawks this summer were his down-hill speed and acceleration as well as his lateral quickness and defensive adherence. Practically, his talents manifested most frequently in his performances in a dribble-drive offense, where he thrived in his duality as a passer and slasher. He was able to penetrate opposing defenses, draw defenders near him and provide quality passes to perimeter shooters or cutting forwards. Watch his highlights, here.
Colby Onyekuru Colby Onyekuru 6'5" | SF Edmond Santa Fe | 2021 State OK | 6’5″ SF | Edmond Santa Fe ’21 |
Onyekuru is a no-brainer to me: a top-twenty prospect in an unprecedentedly touted recruiting class with length, athleticism, skill and no evident down-side. He has the do-it-all, two-way skill that coaches may be looking for out of a three. He has explosive athleticism and can play above the rim in the half-court, shoot from the perimeter and take the ball to the rack. Onyekuru has impressive hand-work, as well, and can finish shots near the rim with either hand. He also stands at a legitimate, if not handsome, 6-foot-5-inches with speed. Watch his highlights, here.
Anthony Turner Anthony Turner 6'3" | PG Stars Mills | 2021 State OK | 6’2″ SG | Classen SAS ’21 |
Turner had an exceptional summer with Oklahoma Chaos, and it is due-time he receives the media credit he deserves. Turner has college versatility to his game, with so many polished talents that you may easily forget his impressive scoring talents. He had numerous games of 20, 25 and even 30-or-more points with the Chaos program as he scored from the shot, slashed to the rim and even posted a few defenders to the block. Additionally, he passes the ball well, makes plays for teammates on cuts and plays mostly devoid of turnovers or risky decision-making. Watch his highlights, here.
