Bridges is an absolute monster and looked like a man among boys on Sunday. Bridges is a very versatile player and truly embodies a three level scorer and can attack at will. By far the best player at the 14U level this weekend, he was the most explosive and athletic player and couldn’t be stopped by anybody. In the 14U Hard Work bracket championship game, the athleticism was on full display. His tight handle and ability to change directions quickly allowed him to get to the rim multiple times at ease, and with his strength was able to muscle through contact consistently. Bridges also has an incredibly smooth shot that allowed him to knock down multiple threes and allowed him to connect on his smooth pull up jumper with his ability to create separation with his exceptional ball handling. Bridges is also a high flyer that blocked multiple shots and dunked multiple times proving that he can do it all. It’s no wonder why he holds D1 offers at this age already
Daniel Freitag | Guard | MN Exposure- Coplin
Freitag was also head and shoulders above the competition this weekend on the circuit. Extremely explosive off the dribble and uses head fakes well to get defenders off balance to allow himself to get to the rim. Freitag is another player that can truly do it all, knocking shots down from outside and finishing through contact as if it wasn’t there to begin with. He has plus speed in the full court setting and can be a high flying threat if given the space. His stellar offensive performance is the key reason to his team winning the 14U Hard Work bracket championship, which included a put back dunk off a teammates miss over three defenders. Also has an extreme knack for the ball on the defensive end and found himself in passing lanes constantly. His IQ on that end combined with his athleticism could be a nightmare for opposing teams. Freitag will be an interesting follow in his class and the potential is through the roof for him.
Jaquan Johnson | Guard | Wisconsin Playground Future
Johnson is an exceptional shooter and it was proven in the 14U Hard Work bracket championship game. He can pull it from all over the court and is dangerous at all levels. His hot shooting late in the second half of the championship game is a big reason why it went into two overtimes. Johnson has a quick release and has one of the purest jumpers that consistently found the net. While he also has plus ability to finish at the rim when he gets there, it’s the shooting that truly makes him a formidable threat. He also possess good ball control with some slick handles and can create for himself if needed and set teammates up off his dribble drive. His game will be overshadowed a bit playing alongside Bridges, but he’s just as dangerous. Will also be an interesting follow in his class
Corey Barnes | Guard | Real Athletics
Barnes is one flashy guard and plays with a ton of swagger. He was the catapult for a team that is filled with grit and guys that don’t back down. He truly embodies being an absolute bulldog and doesn’t back down regardless of the competition. He has a very quick first step and blew by anybody opposing teams put in front of him. He has a phenomenal ability to pass the ball as he was setting up teammates hitting them in the chest off of his dribble penetration creating easy buckets. He has potential to become a do it all scorer but will need develop a softer touch around the rim. Barnes can shoot the ball well also as he connected from deep multiple times helping set up dribble drive penetration with defenders needing to close out. Needs to add some muscle to his frame, and will be interesting to see his development as he grows.
Will Brands | Forward | MN Rush
Brands has the potential to become an interior force with his size and frame for his age. He was a key player in their comeback 49-47 comeback win against D1MN- Penney. He worked through contact at the rim with ease and finished a couple and ones. To truly open up his finishing ability, he will need to develop an inside jumper, but what he has works for now. He was a strong presence in the paint on the defensive end as well stopping offensive players in their tracks. He has the ability to go straight up to block and alter shots that result in a ton of misses. Hard worker on the boards muscling away the ball from opposing players resulting in more possessions on the offensive end and limiting other teams to one possession on the defensive end.
