We covered Minnesota live, but don’t fear Illinois teams that were in Kansas City we got you covered too! All this week we are rolling out our Film Room evaluations from the event! Here is The Finale Film Room: Illinois Phenom 16U!
Mitchell Logan (Springfield – 2022)
Logan is a left handed 6’4” two guard that brings good size and a strong frame to the table. Plus athlete that was most effective with explosive takes off the bounce and high pointing rebounds in traffic.
J’Shaan Richards (Springfield Lanphier – 2022)
Richards is a lengthy 5’11” point guard that showed a good passing feel for the game especially in the first half of the game we saw. Pushed in transition with his speed getting to the rim with smooth handles.
DJ Starr DJ Starr 6'1" | PG Ravenwood | 2022 State TN (Normal U-High – 2022)
Starr that was outstanding in this game. Took it right at the defense off the bounce over and over again for slick scores. Creative handles finishing with both power and acrobatic layups. Didn’t show much in the way of a jumper, but man did this kid impress getting to the cup.
Kamran Banks Kamran Banks 6'2" | SG Springfield Southeast | 2022 State IL (Springfield Southeast – 2022)
Banks is the most well-known of the 2022 prospects on this squad. The 6’3” shooting guard is a thick bodied wing that is excellent at using his power around the basket finishing in traffic. Runs the floor hard for scores. High-motor player that uses his physicality to his advantage. Made a couple nice passes and hit a mid-range jumper.
Tevonta Jackson Tevonta Jackson 6'1" | PG Roosevelt | 2023 State IA (Springfield Lanphier – 2023)
Jackson is the highest ranked prospect on this team. The Lanphier rising sophomore is among the top guards in the 2023 class in Illinois. Long and slender build with some of the best handles in the state. He weaves in and out of the defense with ease. Threw a couple nice dimes as he was looking to set others up more so than score when playing up an age level. Did hit a three late.
Radarius Jackson (Springfield – 2022)
Undersized and thick bodied 6’3” four man rebounded well in his area and showed touch in the paint being efficient on his opportunities.
