Hudson Johnson Hudson Johnson 6'0" | PG Stony Point | 2022 State TX 2022 6’0 Austin Defenders Premier Stony Point High School
Hudson has great awareness always made the right reads up and down the court especially in the half-court. He fires accurate passes that lead his teammates and puts passes out to his shooters right in their pockets. He plays engaged defense and loves to run the floor and give his team a shooting option on the wing and corners on the break.
Thomas Oates 2021 6’5 Austin Defenders Premier Rouse High School
Thomas is an active rebounder. He is confident with the basketball and makes smart decisions with the ball after he clears the glass. He is very agile and can run the floor with ease, he dives smartly to the rim for easy looks when he has his defender beat as well as when the defense is still jogging back. I would like to see continued development with his live dribble and decision making with the basketball as well as stretching the floor.
Conner Cox 2021 6’3 Austin Defenders Premier Jack Hays High School
Conner is a sniper in the corners, he has a grea t ability to knock down open looks. His shot is slow but his basketball intelligence allows him to get off shots with ease as a result of his off-work he does off the ball to get open. He runs the floor really well and knows when to cut to the rim or work around the arc for three-point opportunities.
Nazar Mahmoud 2023 6’3 Austin Defenders Premier Rouse High School
Nazar is an agile guard who is playing up two full years in age. He displayed good ball handling ability and awareness on the offensive end of the floor. He is a strong finisher at the rim despite his skinny frame and lack of time in the weight room. Look for him to make a tremendous leap this year as he got to play up and bang around with 17-year old at the rim. He had to be crafty this weekend with his finishes but got better as he got more games under his belt against some of the top competition in the state.
Kobe Jennings Kobe Jennings 6'5" | 180 lbs | F Ford | 2020 TX 2021 6’8 Bigtyme Sports Gold 17U Quinlan Ford High School
Kobe is an athletic specimen with great size and mobility. He moves very well with the basketball and has a knack for getting downhill. I loved his ability to use his size and frame to get by defenders and finish at the rim. He cleans the glass very well and is intelligent at positioning himself on the boards for second-chance opportunities. I would like to see an increase in his offensive and defensive awareness and work on being in the right place at the right time.
Victor Pyter 2022 6’8 Bigtyme Sports Gold 17U Rockwall Health High School
Victor is a laky shooter who loves to move around the court to get open. He is great at running around off the ball and confuses his defenders with his constant motion. He is great at his positioning and spacing of the floor. His ability to knock down shots and draw out the defense allows his teammates to be really successful with easy looks. I would like to see more confidence around the rim and better defensive awareness on when to slide over to reject shots.
Kamayua Black Jr Kamayua Black Jr 6'5" | F Dallas Skyline | 2022 TX . 2022 6’5 Bigtyme Sports Gold 17U Dallas Skyline High School
Kamayua is a great player with a very nice game. He has the ability to shoot off the dribble displaying a nice pull-up jumper in the midrange. His true prowess lies in his ability to get to the rim and finish through contact. Despite being very skinny he has the awareness to double-clutch to go underneath outstretched arms. He bullies smaller competition around the rim. He has great foot speed but needs work on his ability to affect shots on the defensive end. I would also like to see him work more on his passing ability and setting up his teammates as a result of his hard work getting to the rim.
Landon Condiff 2021 6’4 DC Kings Denton 17U Callisburg High School
Landon is an intelligent combo guard who is great at getting to his zones. He has great touch on a pull-up jumper and showed effectiveness scoring at all three levels. He has a good feel for the game and really plays at his own pace. He rebounds the ball well for the guard position and showed strong post defense. I was incredibly impressed by his ability to drive in the full court and put pressure on the defense with instant offense.
Elijah Mcbath 2021 6’0 DC Kings Denton 17U Denton Ryan High School
Elijah is a crafty point guard with great passing ability and vision. His ability to put passes on a dime that hit his teammates in stride for easy looks was impressive all weekend. He had a few full court passes that he put on the money that took my breath away. He has good ball skills and a quick crossover. He plays so hard and always seems to have affected each and every play. His energy and constant aggression really give his team energy and makes them deadly in the full court.
Shawn Jones Jr Shawn Jones Jr 6'6" | SF Shadow Creek | 2022 State TX . 2022 6’6 Drive Nation Houston Martin 17U Shadow Creek High School
Shawn is an athletic freak. The large wing has great leaping ability and a very well-rounded game. The kid played up in competition this year and was surrounded by good mature teammates that made him and his team very fun to watch. Jones still was the best player on the court at all times, creating well for his teammates after he explodes past his defender and throwing down vicious dunks in the full court. His ability to get to the rim in a blink of an eye really separated him among his peers and makes me think he has a real chance to play very high-level basketball. He has great defensive instincts as well and gets to the passing lanes to steal possessions. He possesses all the quick-twitch muscles that make the NBA game so much fun to watch. His district better be on the lookout for him this upcoming season… (Click this link for my full scouting report https://prephoops.com/2020/05/top-8-sophomores-in-texas/ )
Cam Morrison 2021 6’5 Drive Nation Houston Cutter 17U Atascosita High School
Cam is a lanky wing who is great at driving and getting to the hole. His ability to create for his teammates whether it was a dump off pass to his bigs around the rim or kicking out to open shooters when the defense collapses on him. He moves well when he doesn’t have the ball and fills in gaps when his team is running in transition. He loves using his size and wingspan to bully his opponents around the bucket.
Reece Allen 2021 6’4 Drive Nation Houston Cutter 17U Summercreek High School
Reece is a good ball-handler with an array of moves. He is great at using the triple threat to keep his defender on their toes and off-balance. He plays with energy and aggression that he uses to keep his team engaged and playing hard. His relentless nature fuels his team and it makes his teammates run hard as a result of his hard work.
AJ Ferguson Jr 2021 6’5 Houston Raptors 17U Benjamin Cy Park High School
AJ is an athletic wing who is great at getting up and down in transition. His feel for the game and awareness in the full court was impressive this weekend. He possesses great body control and showed an athletic ability to get around defenders with smart footwork. His lanky arms and strength allow him to finish around the rim with ease.
Braxton Barry 2021 6’7 Houston Raptors 17U Benjamin Westbury Christian High School
Braxton is a huge lanky forward who cleans the glass well and has a soft touch around the rim. He outrebounds almost everyone in his age group with little to no effort. He has incredibly long arms that allow him to affect opponents’ shots and turn away bunnies around the rim. He has quick enough feet to guard most positions, but his defensive prowess is around the rim. I would like to see him get more aggressive with the basketball and look to incorporate more post-work into his game, and continuing to develop his confidence from behind the arc.
Darius Sherman 2021 6’4 Nike Pro Skills Austin Wagner High School
Darius is a lanky point guard who controls the tempo of the offense with ease. Operating as the primary decision-maker for his team, he constantly found teammates for easy and open looks. He displayed an ability to work off the ball, flying off screens for easy pin-down shots. He is a confident and reliable shooter when given space and will make the defense pay. I would like to see more aggressiveness at getting to the hole and forcing the defense to collapse around him.

Freddy is an athletic wing who is great at driving and getting to the hole. He is great at getting easy looks around the rim and is relentless on the offensive glass when he has the right positioning. I would like to see more aggressiveness at the rim when he blows by his on-ball defender. I would like to see more aggressiveness and better decision making and knowing when to dump it off to his teammates.
