104 players from Arizona, California, New Mexico and Michigan battled it out. 12 teams with 8-9 players each.
Each team played 4 games with a possible All-Star game. The All-Star games lived up to the hype with many coaches walking away impressed with what they saw and 6 basketball offers were given out so far.
We will go back and look at each teams players.
Here is Team UCLA:
Top-40 game:
Luke Kearney Luke Kearney 6'7" | SF Bella Vista Prep | 2022 State AZ (SDO)
-He was the MVP of the non-senior all-star game so he moved up to the Top-40 game and continued to play well. He started about as slow as you could but broke out with a monster 27 point 10 rebound game. He is highly skilled from the 3pt line and gets nice elevation on his shot. He also has nice springs to flush it down in the open court. He has a good frame and moves fluidly in the open court. He is probably currently a 4-man who could transition to the 3 spot.
Nate Parras Nate Parras 6'7" | PF Eduprize | 2024 State AZ (Arcadia)
-Another talented face-up forward. Parras is more of a true 4-man. He rebounds the ball at a good rate and he was the best underclassman shot blocker at the camp. He has good length and great timing. He also has a nice looking 3pt shot. He is that classic trail-4 that will knock down the open jumper when left open. He is extremely young and just starting to figure it out. He has nice upside.
Non-Senior All-Star:
Vincent Tedeschi Vincent Tedeschi 6'0" | PG Bella Vista Prep | 2023 State AZ (Moon Valley)
-An extremely shifty lead guard who can score it. He made assists in every game played and hit at least one perimeter jumper in every game as well. He was very productive and showed some flash but he is also very scrappy on defense. He uses his handle to get into the paint and slash to the cup and once he’s in the lane he then can make nice passes to teammates. He will be in the varsity rotation next season either as a starter or be their 6th man, I am guessing he will earn more and more playing time as the year goes on.
Tarik Spencer Tarik Spencer 6'2" | CG Valley Vista | 2023 AZ (Valley Vista)
-One of the most athletic and fastest sophs in the state. He has true track type of speed in the open court. He an elite first step to get passed his defender and finish off tough layups vs oncoming defenders. He is a tough on-ball defender using his quick feet and hands. He currently scores all his points in the paint and can improve his shooting long term.
Aadem Isai Aadem Isai 6'1" | PG Valley Vista | 2023 State AZ (Valley Vista)
-The sharp shooting combo guard has deep range and is one of the better passers we had at the camp. He passes it with either hand and made some impressive full court passes on a dime to teammates right in stride. He also can create his own shot with a hard dribble and side step and then he releases the ball. He is probably best off the catch from the 3pt line. He has that old school kind of game, as he is constantly changing speeds and makes him hard to get a read on.
Others
Brandon Austin Brandon Austin 6'0" | PG Arcadia | 2022 State AZ (Arcadia)
-A pure PG with a good feel for the game. He has a quicker first step and likes to attack the basket and can finish off layups with his left or right hand. He is sneaky athletic in the open court and can make plays for others. He can make perimeter jumpers to the 3pt line and plays a cerebral style of ball. He has a legit chance to start at PG for the Titans on one of the top 5A teams in state.
Jaydon S Cameron Jaydon S Cameron 6'4" | SG Deer Valley | 2023 State AZ (Deer Valley)
-A combo guard who plays a smart floor game. He has a soft touch from mid to the 3pt line. He knows when to cut to the basket for easy buckets and is a natural slasher. He can post up smaller guards and shows a lot of offense and upside.
Patrick Weyrauch PF 6’0 (Sunrise Mountain)
-A powerfully built forward does his best work deep inside with the bigs. He has incredible strength to push players out for position and grab rebounds. He can score on tough layups and shoot it from elbow and in. Not many played harder then him and showed a real motor.
