In the Southern California recruiting landscape, many of the top 2021 prospects have pledged to Division I programs as the CIF Southern Section has decided to delay its season until March 12th at the earliest. With the altered season, rising seniors have even less time to be evaluated live by college coaches and we wanted to highlight some of the best available prospects in SoCal.
Chris Page Chris Page 6'4" | SG Gardena | 2021 State CA-S , Gardena – Page is a freakish athlete who combined his bounce in transition with some off-the bounce game in the half-court setting. The wiry 6-foot-4 shooting guard is a dynamic scorer on the break who is great when moving off the ball and using back screens for lob finishes.
Remington Rofer Remington Rofer 6'8" | PF Loyola | 2021 State CA-S , Loyola – The high motor power forward is active on both the offensive and defensive boards and is a capable defender in ball-screen situations, whether it’s switching onto a guard or hedging and recovering to his man. The 6-foot-8 senior to be has good touch in the lane with either hand and can stretch the floor out to 17-feet.
Kyle Frelow Kyle Frelow 6'6" | PF Heritage Christian | 2021 State CA-S , Heritage Christian – Frelow’s role has always been as a complimentary piece during his time at Heritage Christian, but with the transfers of Skyy Clark and Max Allen Max Allen 6'8" | C CA-S , along with the graduation of Dillon DePina Dillon DePina 6'2" | CG Heritage Christian | 2020 State CA-S , we could see a different Frelow this season. The 6-foot-6 forward is a great rebounder in and out of his area, can guard multiple positions and is a high percentage finisher around the basket.
Denim Dawson Denim Dawson 6'5" | SF Orange Lutheran | 2021 State CA-S , Orange Lutheran – Dawson is one of the most explosive and effortless athletes left on the board in the 2021 class. The 6-foot-5 wing is best in transition where he can slash his way to the paint and to the rim for highlight-reel style dunks. When Dawson is engaged defensively, he has the length and versatility to guard multiple spots and is a good weak-side shot blocker.
