However, while the talent is there, the exposure lacks, as it seems that lower New York area is always behind other big-ticket areas, such as the carefully watched city. However, today we begin a journey into section one, starting with their class of 2022 who will be making their case to be the stars of their teams come this junior season.
Nick Townsend | Horace Greeley
Nick Townsend has showcased some potential D1 potential this season. The power forward has shown that he can be athletic himself, being able to post up in the paint while also having the ability to rise up and throw down dunks at the rack. Townsend also has an elite shooting ability, allowing him to consistently spread the floor from the midrange and even the three.
Gabe Bristow | Ketcham
Gabe Bristow has shown nothing but shooting. His shooting has singlehandedly defined his impact on games while even keeping his team in them. Coming off a run or standing still, to even shooting off his dribble, Bristow always makes sure his shots show up on the scoreboard. His ability to drive to the basket makes him all the more dangerous and keeps defenders on their toes when guarding him.
Justin Allen | Fox Lane
Like Bristow, Justin Allen has also made shooting his game. Allen has shown his best ability in his off ball shooting, with him coming off carefully designed away-screens to get him to a cold zone on the floor, where he can knock down a three. Allen has also been tenacious on defense, with him being able to take the best assignment while confidently switching off.
Jaeden Carr | Ossining
In his sophomore season for Ossining, Jaeden Carr has proved that he can run the offense. Carr has been running the offense and bringing up the ball at an elite level all season, while Carr has shown his elite shooting, both pulling up from his own dribble or taking the extra step in and taking the “mini-shot” of a floater. Carr should be a force in the 1 spot next season.
Vincent Bernando | Ossining
A teammate of Carr, Bernando has also flashed mountains of potential this season for Ossining. Brenando, primarily a football player, has been putting his gridiron strength to good use as he has been pounding the box, providing a big body on offense while stuffing defenders and denying opportunistic guards from driving, while he has also flashed an above-average shot to use.
Thomas Sutter | White Plains
Thomas Sutter has shown that he can be part of a winning team, as he enjoyed his tenure of a high-flying White Plains offense. Sutter did his part, as he was a floor spacer who could always be counted on with knocking down perimeter shots. On the other end, Sutter showed that he has both the skill and strength to guard all positions, making versatility another weapon of his.
Delano Knox | Arlington
Delano Knox has excelled in his sophomore season for Arlington. The guard has a lengthy, athletic build allowing him to consistently drive to the rim and give him good looks or force contact with defenders. His build, added with his speed, also allows him to be active on the perimeter for defense, giving him open fastbreaks where he can cash in on.
Rami Hahami | Groton
The guard out of Groton, Hahami is no stranger to success, with him earning All-NESPAC and All-ISM honorable mention honors, and rightfully so. Hahami has showcased a successful three-point shot all season, going into the trend of not only shooting off the dribble but making himself a legitimate scoring threat when bringing the ball up. Hahami has also brought his scoring inside, with him being able to drive either all the way to the rim or enough for a mid-range he can easily cash in on.
