Here, in the Lower Hudson Valley, are some more players who deserve to be ranked and need a little more exposure to their name.
James Rebholz | Pelham Memorial
This season for Pelham Memorial, James Rebholz really demonstrated what he could do on offense, which is everything. Rebholz can command the pace and drive the ball, while he can use distance and shoot effectively off a pass or his dribble.
Levi Ring | Scarsdale
This season for Scarsdale. Lev Ring demonstrated that he can consistently score in a varsity offense, but he made it clear his value is beyond that. Ring can execute risky, tight passes and have them pay off, while his speed allows him to effectively control the fastbreak.
Stef Grammatica | Pelham Memorial
Stef Grammatica doesn’t put up flashy offensive numbers, but where he lacks in consistency, he makes up for in potential. Grammatica has proven to be an elite shooter with a quick release, and has a microwave quality of being unstoppable once in a rhythm.
Thomas Hall | Albertus Magnus
Looking like professional Duncan Robinson, Thomas Hall burst onto the scene in much of the same way. His height allows him to shift to the interior, while he could move to the corner to space the floor, where his release point makes him extremely deadly from deep.
Rahsean Melvin | Valhalla
Coming into this season, expectations for Valhalla were not high. However, the play of Rahsean Melvin certainly put a surprise in doubter’s faces, as well as giving hope for the future. Melvin has been everywhere on defense, and figures to receive a larger offensive role for next season as well.
Nick Hiltsey | Hendrick Hudson
As a junior for Hendrick Hudson this season, Nick Hiltsey really made sure to put the shooting in shooting guard. Hiltsey was always on his toes on defense, and when the right time would come, he would make a pounce on the ball and be prepared for the fastbreak, at which he is a little too effective at.
Laden Graves | Pelham Memorial
Laden Graves pulled out a monster junior season, drawing comparisons to players like Montrezl Harrell. Graves is undersized, but his strength lets him hold his own in both painted areas, where his absorption of contact and speed allow him to finish plays and further punish the defense.
