College scouts are equally as frustrated as recruits with the infrequency of real-time, in-person evaluations.  CoVid-19 is unforgiving and ruthless.  Which colleges are talking to these players and what are some college styles or systems that suit their strengths and weaknesses best?

Earlier in the week, “J Law” announced his top five schools: Arkansas, Alabama, Oregon, Vandy, Iowa State.  He labeled them his “Top 5,” but if we assume that means all unmentioned schools that have offered are off the table, then these schools are ostensibly eliminated from the sweepstakes: LSU, TCU, Missouri, Tulane, Georgia, Nebraska, Memphis, Syracuse.  Lawson was the 2020 Mr. Basketball at the Class AA level.

Way back in July Jackson HilgerJacksonHilger6'2" | SGChattanooga Christian | 2022StateTN earned his first offer, that from Covenant College.  There are several notable schools tracking Jackson after his strong summer (Tennessee Tigers) among them Freed-Hardeman, Lee University, Centre College, University of Alabama Huntsville.  Bryan College invited Jackson to their elite camp.

John WindleyJohnWindley6'4" | PGBrentwood | 2021StateTN has offers from Washington “Wash U” University, Johns Hopkins, Emory, and Rhodes.  “They are all really good fits for him as a student and a player,” shared John’s mother Nancy Tuesday via Twitter DM.  Remember, John’s older brother David is a member of the Wash U men’s basketball team.

Sapp plays for Team Passion 17u.  “Lee has been connecting with him,” said Team Passion Director.  “And Northern Oklahoma College-Enid.”  Interestingly, Northern Oklahoma-Enid hired Tennessee State University graduate Darreon Reddick just last year. Reddick joined the staff in 2019 after spending 1 year playing professional basketball overseas in Europe.

“[The] Citadel and Lincoln Memorial are recruiting pretty heavily,” shared Matthew SellsMatthewSells6'3" | SGLivingston Academy | 2021StateTN Friday afternoon.  Lipscomb continues to keep in touch, though they have not offered.  Lincoln Memorial played in 8 NCAA Tournaments and won 15 NCAA Tournament games at the D2 level.
