Amare Curtis Amare Curtis 5'9" | PG Coolidge | 2022 State MD | Coolidge (DC) ’22
Curtis started at the point for a Springbrook team that was in contention for the 4A state title before the pandemic hit. A crafty floor general who displays elite quickness and paint-getting ability, he’s a polished finisher who enjoys involving others. Look for Curtis to fit right in along with the host of other talented young prospects currently coming up at Coolidge.
Barry Evans Barry Evans 6'7" | SF Poly | 2021 State MD | Poly (MD) ’21
A possibly underrated bit of transfer news that has occurred this offseason involves Barry Evans Barry Evans 6'7" | SF Poly | 2021 State MD ‘ decision to leave Oakland Mills for Poly. There’s no doubt that he will gain valuable experience as the Engineers tend to play one of the perennially tougher schedules you will find for any public school in this area. Evans has proven himself in Howard county, where he finished top-five in virtually every statistical category this past season. Coach Brand and co. have a track record of cultivating high-level talent and he will surely be a key figure in their next crop.
Anthony Davenport | St. John’s (DC) ’23
Davenport dominated the competition at the JV level during his freshman year at RM and emerged as one of the more promising frontcourt players in the local 2023 class. The 6-foot-7 forward will add depth to a young and talented group at St. John’s.
Teriq Johnson Teriq Johnson 5'10" | PG Ballou | 2023 State MD | Ballou (DC) ’23
Tabbed by Houzmazoo Network as the top freshman in the DCIAA last year, Johnson has decided to transfer from Anacostia to Ballou. The smooth lead guard certainly turned heads with his play last year and should be a name to watch closely among guard prospects in the city moving forward.
Dylan Long | Annapolis Area (MD) ’22
Long, a standout on Pallotti’s JV team this past season has decided to transfer to Annapolis Area for his final two years of high school. A jack-of-all-trades at the guard position who gets the job done on both ends, he should excel in an increased role moving forward.
