Tyler Borowski Tyler Borowski 6'2" | PG Appleton East | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Wisconsin Crusaders
Really easy to appreciate the way Borowski plays the game. Borowski has an excellent feel for the game and his teammates. He’s always looking to set them up and creates so many rhythm jumpers for the Crusaders. The 6-foot-2 guard can score it as well. He’s a strong 3-point shooter and can get by defenders with a hesitation blow-by. One of many young pieces for Appleton East, Borowski looks like he could be one of the bigger breakout players in the Fox Valley Association next season.
Leon Bond Leon Bond 6'5" | SF Wauwatosa East | 2022 State #62 Nation WI – 2022 – SF – JH1 Elite
A prospect that keeps chipping away at his flaws, Bond showed a little more in two high-level matchups on Saturday. You always know what you’re going to get from Bond as far as an athletic, transition, defensive, and rebounding presence. Now that he’s rounding out his game, Bond becomes much more dangerous. The Wauwatosa East standout is now a comfortable mid-range shooter. His handles in the halfcourt are also much tighter. Bond also started playing on the block and scoring with his back to the basket. This should be an easy offer for many mid-major programs given that Bond doesn’t rely solely on his athleticism. He’s extremely coachable and impacts the game well beyond scoring. There might be a high ceiling and development that needs to take place, but the floor is much higher than people probably think.
Jeffery Brazziel Jeffery Brazziel 6'4" | SF Martin Luther | 2022 #159 Nation AZ – 2022 – SF – Wisconsin Playground Club
It was a statement game for Brazziel against JH1 Elite. The statement was loud and clear. Brazziel is still the No. 1 player in Wisconsin’s 2022 class. Scoring a game-high 27 points, Brazziel lead PGC to a big win Saturday afternoon. With his team down nine in the second half, Brazziel took control. He stepped up defensively, creating a flurry of steals that led to transition buckets. The 6-foot-5 wing has always been a terrific transition talent, but he’s coming into his own in the halfcourt as well. Brazziel can make defenders pick their poison. He’s a downhill slasher, but if you give him space, Brazziel will make you pay with his jumper that extends to beyond the arc.
Jack Campion Jack Campion 5'10" | PG Milton | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Wisconsin Playground Club
Campion really showed up in ways that extend beyond the box score against JH1 Elite. The Milton star was relentless defensively and caused all sorts of havoc. He had a couple of steals in the second half that helped PGC blow the game open. A quick, electrifying guard, Campion’s speed often goes unmatched. Even more impressive, he can handle the ball at top-end speed, go coast-to-coast, and finish off-balance. Campion added to defender’s misery, Campion shot it well from the outside with his high-arcing 3-pointers.
Bryson Clague – 2021 – SG – Wisconsin Crusaders
The former Grafton star dropped the hammer on D1 Minnesota Prospects in the second half, scoring 11 of his 15 points. Now in Alabama, Clague returned to his roots to run with the Crusaders and fit in nicely with a talented backcourt. The 6-foot-2 combo guard has an excellent feel around the rim, able to spin past defenders and finish with either hand. He’s got more of a shooting guard frame, but has always played a lot like a point guard. A drive and dish prospect who can also stretch the floor from deep, Clague was top 50 on our board prior to his move.
Jamariea Dalton – 2023 – SG – Wisconsin Starz Elite
An unranked prospect that emerged on Saturday, Dalton is a high energy slasher with length and athleticism. Dalton looked really good catching on the wing, beating defenders with a quick first-step, and knifing his way to the bucket. Dalton can finish above the rim. He also impressed when extra defenders were thrown at him, dropping passes off in tight areas and distributing the basketball to his teammates around the rim.
Hayden Doyle Hayden Doyle 6'0" | CG Brookfield East | 2021 State WI – 2021 – G – Wisconsin Playground
Once again, Doyle was an x-factor for his team. Facing a high major guard, Doyle led a strong defensive effort for PGC in their win over Team Buddy Buckets. The Brookfield East standout did a great job of knowing when to stick with his man through screens or hand him off to the help defenders. Doyle just crowded people all game, staying right in their hip pocket while eliminating straight-line drives or rhythm jumpers.
Ashton Janowski Ashton Janowski 6'1" | CG Pewaukee | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – JH1 Elite
Continuing his strong summer, Janowski led JH1 Elite to a win over the Illinois Hoop Stars Saturday morning. A floor general that dictates the flow of the game, Janowski just knows when to attack, when to push the pace, and when to defer to his teammates. Finishing with 16 points and a handful of assists during a 20-point victory, Janowski handled whatever defense the opposition threw at him. Janowski is a strong pull-up jump shooter, but also finished at the rim very well on Saturday. He’s not an above the rim presence, but understands how to absorb contact and shield defenders from the ball. Come next summer, look for mid-major programs to be invested with the Pewaukee standout.
Luke Haertle Luke Haertle 6'2" | SG Lake Country Lutheran | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Wisconsin Playground Club
Haertle may not have scored a ton, but his impact was a big reason why PGC held off D1 Minnesota on Saturday. The Lake Country Lutheran star was just relentless defensively, on the glass, and scrapping for 50-50 balls. Haertle was throwing his body around all game long and was the most physical player on the floor. The 6-foot-3 guard was especially impressive battling for rebounds and keeping D1 Minnesota’s long, athletic forwards from creating second-chance opportunities.
David Joplin David Joplin 6'8" | SF Brookfield | 2021 State #54 Nation WI – 2021 – SF – D1 Minnesota
Joplin had the mid-range game working on Saturday. The Brookfield Central star does so many things offensively and is almost positionless on the floor. He handled the point duties, ran the floor in transition, slashes from the high post, and can play with his back to the basket down low. Joplin showed exceptional touch with his one or two dribble jumper when he gets about 12-15 feet from the rim, knocking down a flurry of shots with a hand in his face. He finished with 10 points and nine rebounds in a win over the Alabama Celtics. Joplin also had 17 points in a win over Lincoln Supreme.
Jack Rose Jack Rose 6'5" | SG Westosha Central | 2022 State #213 Nation WI – 2022 – SG – Wisconsin Playground Club
Rose had an efficient 15 points for PGC in their win over D1 Minnesota. Playing within the flow of the offense and not rushing shots, Rose had one of his better games of the summer. Rose moved very well without the basketball and made some strong defensive guards work hard throughout the game. He set up defenders particularly well and freed himself for catch and shoot 3’s or curls that led to easy layups.
Zach Steigenberger Zach Steigenberger 6'0" | CG Appleton East | 2022 State WI – 2022 – SG – Wisconsin Crusaders
Steigenberger scored it well and efficiently throughout Saturday. The Appleton East guard has a pure stroke and shooting touch. When defenders are bearing down, Steigenberger can speed up his release and remain accurate. He also did a great job of taking advantage of over-aggressive defenders who flew out at him and knocked down his one-dribble jumpers.
