Xavier Lewis Xavier Lewis 6'7" | PF Tf South | 2022 State IL (Young & Reckless)
Lewis is already a top 20 prospect in the 2022 class, but his play this weekend and particularly on Saturday showcased we might not have him high enough. Trending toward being more of a four than a three man at the next level. Fits that new age position perfectly with his length and high end athleticism. Finished in the pick/roll, put it on the deck multiple times for dunks, and caught lobs. Quick to the offensive glass. Defensively he uses his long arms both laterally and vertically. Helium heading into junior season.
Gabe Madej Gabe Madej 6'5" | SF Fenwick | 2022 State IL (Young & Reckless)
Madej is a strong bodied 6’5” combo forward that can really shoot it from beyond the arc. He drilled an array of spot up threes throughout the weekend just like he did for the Jaguars at previous PHC events. The Fenwick forward is a solid rebounder and mixes in some junk points in addition to his shooting.
Patrick Robinson Patrick Robinson 6'4" | SG Oswego East | 2022 State IL . (HIT)
Robinson has been a revelation this summer with his play for HIT. This Oswego East 6’5” wing didn’t even play varsity and he might be a top 25 prospect in our next update. Strong bodied wing with size that can get buckets from multiple levels. Solid jump shooter who was a bit streaky at times, but is definitely a shot maker. He did a lot of his damage getting downhill and scoring off put backs. Finishes well through contact. Plus wing rebounder.
Dajuan Bates Dajuan Bates 6'1" | PG De La Salle | 2022 State IL (R.I.S.E.)
Bates is a 6’1” lead guard from De La Salle that plays in your face defense. He gets after it on that end creating turnovers and being a pest to his opponent. Wiry athlete that plays with speed and crisp ball handling. Got to the rim at a high rate where he scored or was fouled. Also displayed flashes as a distributor throughout the event.
Marcellius Cohen Marcellius Cohen 6'8" | C De La Salle | 2022 State IL (R.I.S.E.)
Cohen didn’t play in the game we saw on Sunday, but in the Saturday contest the De La Salle 6’8” center was a force on the glass. High pointed rebounds over and over again in traffic. Controlled the defensive glass and got second chance points on the other end. Rim ran in transition for points and converted quick passes in the paint. Shot blocking presence defensively.
Famious French (Illinois Hoopstars)
Like the way this Bloomington 2022 small forward’s game is trending. Smooth athlete that can defend multiple positions, score off the bounce, and is a solid shooter from three. One to watch moving forward!
