I’m always excited to see this class compete, the incoming freshman because they don’t care about where i’m ranked like the other prospects and they just want to hoop to showcase their skill set. Here are a few prospects that stood out to me.
Chris McDermott 6’6” PF | Houston Heights
He is solid with his back to the basket. He runs the floor well and held down the paint. He also has a decent mid-range game and was all over the glass rebounding the ball.
Tee Bartlett 6’8” PF | Homeschool 2025
He is super physical and runs the floor well. He finishes around the rim at a very high rate. He was a put back King as well as taking his opponent from the wing and was dunking with authority. This prospect was the only player still in Middle School but when he touches down in High School and which ever High School gets this prospect will be very happy.
Christian Umana 5’10” PG | Clear Creek
His hesi game was working for him as he was able to freeze up his opponent off the dribble fake. He is a good and willing passer as well and hardly looked to score the ball. His solid play grabbed my attention as a floor general.
Alec Scarborough 6’7” PF | Second Baptist
Contested everything at the rim even knocked down some tough mid-range jumpers as well. Solid with his back to the basket and is a good passer from the post position. He worked hard to gain possession on the court and won almost every battle.
Jae’Coby Osborne 6’4” W | Fort Bend Elkins
He is a solid wing prospects uses body well when attacking the rim. Has a strong handle on the ball and scores in bunches. Athletic as well and can knock down the occasional trey ball.
Zion Pipkin 5’11” PG | The Woodlands Christian Academy [as seen in the picture]
Tough on-ball defender and makes the game look super easy. He was able to get wherever he wanted to get on court whenever he wanted to. He is a top 3 prospect in his class in Greater Houston. He has been playing up on the 16U and 17U level for the majority of the summer and it showed at the event. If his game continues to grow it could be scary. He was also the MVP of the event.
Savion Lewis
I wasn’t able to get this prospects school information. He has a great feel for the game and didn’t force anything. He allowed the game to come to him and was giving his opponents fits on the court. He scored on all three levels but mainly downhill.
