There are however, several capable floor generals still available. In this article PH takes a look at some of the best remaining PG’s in the c/o 2021.
Kobe Stroughter Kobe Stroughter 6'1" | PG Nevada Prep | 2021 State NV 6’1 Liberty (#12) – Stroughter may be more of a Combo, but he definitely has PG skills. He possesses a tight handle and has the ability to shoot the ball from 3. He would be a really good value pick up for the right program, as he is an extremely talented offensive player, forced to defer in previous years because of the talent surrounding him.
Lorenzo Abellar Lorenzo Abellar 5'8" | PG Liberty | 2021 State NV 5’8 Liberty (#14) – If you’re looking for a throwback pure PG, Abellar is your man. Starts with his defense, as he has the ability to clamp down and be an irritant to opposing ballhandlers. Offensively, he’s a natural leader with the ability to keep his team playing at a successful pace. Rumor is that he’s grown a few inches since last season which would make for an added bonus.
Frank Bartley Frank Bartley 6'0" | PG Spring Valley | 2021 State NV 6’0 Spring Valley (#17) – Bartley may be one of the quietest sleepers in town. A talented QB on the football team, the gridiron may be his ultimate destination. He does have next level basketball talent however, including great footspeed and elite R&J athleticism. A dog on the defensive end, Bartley takes as much pride in shutting down his opponents as he does in scoring on them.
Jaylen Berry Jaylen Berry 6'2" | PG Basic | 2021 State NV 6’2 Basic (#18) – This is why this class is so deep. Jaylen Berry Jaylen Berry 6'2" | PG Basic | 2021 State NV could be an absolute hit for several programs. He burst on the scene last season helping Basic to one of the best records in years. He was primed to get his name out there with the LV Knicks, when the shutdown happened. Berry can shoot it, is tough when playing downhill and has good size for the position.
Jaycob McBath Jaycob McBath 6'0" | PG Skyline Prep | 2022 State AZ 6’0 Desert Valley Prep (#20) – McBath has sneaky good value. He’s a traditional PG that understands P&R basketball as well as anyone in the state. He can shoot it and takes advantage of his mid range game off high ball screens. McBath played a brutal schedule for a first year DVP squad, helping him become battle tested for the next level.
Cort Ballinger Cort Ballinger 5'10" | PG Bishop Manogue | 2021 State NV 5’10 Bishop Manogue (#22) – If Court Ballinger is your point guard, expect your team to play tough disciplined basketball. One of the top on ball defenders in the state, Ballinger feels like a fan favorite waiting to happen at the right program.
