2021 6-2 G Emondre Bowles Emondre Bowles 6'2" | PG Johnson-Savannah | 2021 State GA (Johnson-Savannah) put on his cape and proved to be the best player in the gym this weekend. Bowles went for 32, 37 and 30 points to average 33 points per game. He pumped in 25 of his 37 points in the first half against Team Strap and finished with 9 rebounds, 6 steals and 2 blocks in the 62-53 win. In his final game of the tournament vs. Rock Summit Basketball Elite, Bowles had 30 points (7-10 2PT; 3-10 3PT; 7-8 FT), 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals with only 2 turnovers. Bowles was electric throughout the weekend. He easily broke presses and got to the rim in the blink of an eye. He earned a Lander offer and CSU Bakersfield has shown interest.
Stephon Frazier (Johnson-Savannah) impressed in the last game of the tournament. The 5-foot-7 rising sophomore did a great job handling pressure and advancing the ball up the floor. He knocked down open threes when they were offered and even got into the lane using a quick first step.
2021 6-2 G Micah Johnson (Johnson-Savannah) was effective on both sides of the ball. He has some 3&D capabilities with his length on the perimeter. He knocked down a pair of three balls vs. Team Strap and finished with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks.
2021 6-6 PF Brysen Nunn (New Hampstead) did yeoman’s work on the glass for the duration of the tournament. Nunn had to battle for the full 46 minutes each game and compiled multiple double-digit rebounding games. He played his role well and was an integral piece in Savannah’s two wins.
2022 6-5 W Michael Hayes (New Hampstead) caught my eye with his defensive effort. Hayes has a long wingspan and puts it to use. He helps rebound and really can disrupt offenses. He had 4 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 5 blocks vs. Team Strap. He contested every shot in his area and really helped limit easy buckets.
