McBride went for 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 steals and 2 blocks in a 74-29 rout of the Dyimond Rising Stars before getting injured late. He’s a sneaky good player out of the GISA with a smooth feel. He can burn teams from all levels and is exceptionally good at finishing at the basket. He is on college radars now.
Khristian Clark Khristian Clark 6'3" | SF Southeast Bulloch | 2022 State GA (Southeast Bulloch) hit a late And-1 three to beat the Georgia Legacy 56-54 in the semifinals. With McBride out, the offense ran through the burly football player. Clark does not have a basketball body but he’s got deceptively quick feet and is very skilled for his size. He can play 1-5 with his powerful 6-foot-3 build. Clark is a bowling ball when he gets downhill and can score through defenders. He’s got a dangerous three-point shot and is a sharp passer that delivers bullets. He’s a main reason why Southeast Bulloch might surprise some people in Class 3A.
2022 6-5 SG Brayden Baker (Richmond Hill) made a lasting impression. He’s got good control and feel for the game. He’s able to score off the dribble and pull-up from deep. Baker has the size and skill to get into the lane and finish at the rim as well. He went for 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals vs. Dyimond and had a strong performance in the win over the Georgia Legacy. He could be a guy that colleges will want to check in on in another year.
6-foot-3 Andrew “Dewey” Butler (South Effingham) is all downhill. He lives for transition. Butler is a strong athlete that has a laser focus on getting to the cup. He’s extremely hard to slow down once he gets a head of steam. Butler explodes to the basket and can punish anyone that tries to jump with him. He had 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block in the win over Dyimond.
6-foot-4 combo forward Tyler Buggs (RTCA) showed off an interesting skill set. Much like Khristian Clark Khristian Clark 6'3" | SF Southeast Bulloch | 2022 State GA , Buggs doesn’t have the prototypical basketball body. He’s got some major meat on his bones and is a big boy, but Buggs doesn’t let his size limit him to traditional back-to-the-basket power forward basketball. Buggs is good in the high post, equipped with a soft touch and a quick first step. He’s a rugged rebounder and good passer. Buggs is a tough cover especially in the GISA.
