This tournament was a fantastic showcase of all of the talent in the area, many of which will receive a major uptick in recruiting! Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage from this event!
Ayden Watson Ayden Watson 6'5" | SF Sequoyah | 2021 State GA 2021 6’5 Hype Hawks 2021- Sequoyah High School
Ayden is a strong force down low with the ability to out-jump and outwork his opponents for positioning. He is great at leaping for rebounds and clears the glass well on both sides of the ball and came up with multiple tip-ins off his teammates misses. He is great at drawing contact and using his strength to finish through defenders draped all over him.
Jackson Greene Jackson Greene 6'6" | PF Lambert | 2021 State GA 2021 6’6 Atlanta Wolfpack 2021- Lambert High School
Jackson is an athletic mobile forward with great ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. His size and athleticism allow him to do whatever he wants on the court, but he is especially keen on getting downhill and bullying his way past defenders. His ball-handling ability and awareness on the court stood out for his size. He always seems to have his head up, even while going one hundred miles an hour down the lane, making accurate and aware passes based on who collapsed onto him. His shooters were very thankful for his ability to create open looks for them.
Brysen Nunn 2021 6’6 Savannah Select 2021 17U- New Hampstead High School
Brysen is a force down low, clogging the paint and rejecting shots with ease. He is so strong on defense and has the ability to move his opponents around. On the glass, he seems to get to every rebound with great athleticism and always makes the right reads when making outlet passes. His ability to clear the boards and jump-start his teams offense was the difference-maker in a few games this weekend. On offense, he seems to always be in the best position possible to get to rebounds and has a real six sense of where the ball will bounce to.
Jonathan Ellis Jonathan Ellis 6'6" | SF Brunswick | 2021 State GA 2021 6’6 MVA Outlawz- Brunswick High School
Jonathan is a rim running athletic forward who brings a lot to the table. His athleticism matched with his foot speed allows him to be a complete player. I was incredibly impressed with his leaping ability and ability to get to the rim in a multitude of ways, from the post and even from a live dribble. He is rounding out his game displaying a soft shooting touch and ability to stretch the floor. I would like to see continued development in his jumper, and work on his handle and keeping his head up to create for others. Watch for his stock to take a major leap after a dominant showing this weekend.
