The Players Only League was filled with prospects who can light it up from behind the arc. Here are the top shooters from the first day of the Players Only League.
C.J. Stout C.J. Stout 6'4" | SG Seton Hall Prep | 2022 State NJ , 6’4 SG Unity Legends 16U Black (Seton Hall Prep) 2022
Stout kicked off the Players Only League with a bang as he caught fire early. The 6’4 guard knocked down four three-pointers in the opening half as he seemingly couldn’t miss from behind the arc. Stout showed off a quick release on his shot and was comfortable pulling in transition. He moved extremely well off the ball and didn’t need a lot of space to get his shot off. Stout is a good shooting prospect who is capable of going off at any time.
Brandon Pfeifer Brandon Pfeifer 6'0" | SG Allentown | 2021 State NJ , 6’0 SG NJ Panthers 17U Blue (Allentown) 2021
Stout was not the only prospect to open up the day on fire as Pfeifer was scorching the nets from deep. The 6’0 guard did not miss a shot from behind the arc in the first half as he was a big part of the Panthers offense. Pfeifer has a nice shooting stroke and does not need a lot of space to get it off. He moved well off the ball and knew how to properly space the floor in the halfcourt. Pfeifer is a knockdown shooter who should continue to play well for the NJ Panthers 17U Blue team.
Jack Spellman Jack Spellman 6'8" | PF Westfield | 2021 State NJ , 6’8 PF Unity Legends 17U (Westfield) 2021
Unity Legends 17U may have fallen to the Dominican 17U team, but Spellman was able to make the game close in the second half. The 6’8 stretch four knocked down four three-pointers as he provided great spacing for the Legends offense. Spellman sets his feet for his shot and rarely rushes to get it off. He has a good form on his jumper and is able to get hot from distance in a hurry. Spellman is a skilled stretch four who provides good spacing for the Unity Legends 17U team.
Andrew Stack Andrew Stack 6'2" | SG Madison | 2022 State NJ , 6’3 SG Unity Legends 16U Gold (Madison) 2022
Stack may have had the top shooting performance on the day with his play against the Brooklyn Crusaders. The 6’3 guard knocked down six three-pointers as he simply couldn’t miss. Stack shot the ball with confidence in the second game as he made a couple triples in transition. He also showed off his mid-range game with several pull-up jumpers throughout the day. Stack is one of the top shooters in the 2022 class and he proved it at the Players Only League.
Christian Cevis Christian Cevis 6'0" | PG West Morris | 2021 State NJ ,6’0 PG NJ Panthers 17U (West Morris) 2021
Cevis may have only knocked down one three on the day, but it was the one that counted the most. The 6’0 point guard drilled the game-winning triple against the Dominican 17U team. Cevis has a nice release on his shot and sets himself up before he releases it. He is not rattled by pressure and is unafraid of taking the shot in the big moment. Cevis is one of the top true point guard prospects in New Jersey and it was on full display at the Players Only League.
