It also included several local players who put on terrific performances. In this article PH takes a look at some local standouts from the event.
DJ Thomas DJ Thomas 6'2" | PG Liberty | 2024 #19 Nation NV 6’0 PG West Coast Select 2024 (#2PHN 2024) – Thomas put his IQ and advanced skillset on display all week. Despite playing up against top competition, Thomas proved to be the best player on the floor for most of the weekend.
Osiris Grady Osiris Grady 6'7" | PF Coronado | 2023 #195 Nation UT 6’7 PF Las Vegas Punishers 2023 (#2PHN 2023) (featured image) – Grady is starting to put it all together. Played with great energy, sprinting the floor and finishing in transition. He also showed flashes of a perimeter game, stepping out and hitting mid range jumpers, while handling and finishing in transition.
Darrion Williams Darrion Williams 6'6" | SF Bishop Gorman | 2022 State NV 6’6 PF College Prep 2022 – Williams will be a great addition to the state talent pool. Low maintenance player with a solid basketball IQ. Was impressed with his ability to find the open man, and deliver pinpoint passes.
Angelo Kambala Angelo Kambala 5'10" | CG Liberty | 2023 State NV 5’11 CG Vegas Elite 2023 (#7PHN 2023) – What I love most about Kambala is his confidence. Playing up against top competition, the young combo never stopped attacking. Agile on ball defender with quick hands. Kambala used his quick right to left crossover to get by opponents all weekend.
TJ Brown TJ Brown 5'10" | CG Las Vegas | 2023 NV 5’11 CG Las Vegas 2023 (#5PHN 2023) – The combo guard position just gets deeper in Vegas. Brown showed terrific quickness, and a great burst. Got to the rim at will and showed the ability to finish in a variety of ways.
Ryan Abelman Ryan Abelman 6'4" | SG Bishop Gorman | 2022 State NV 6’2 SG Vegas Elite 2022 (#4PHN 2022) – Ableman proved to be more than a spot up shooter. Yes he knocked down shots, but he also displayed a crafty handle and the ability to drive and get into the lane.
Joshua Jefferson Joshua Jefferson 6'8" | PF Liberty | 2022 State #158 Nation NV 6’7 PF West Coast Select 2022 (#3PHN 2022) – Showed off an array of low post moves. The bruising post, was unstoppable down low, but also was able to stretch the floor and finish with putbacks around the rim.
