Oklahoma Power 17U Gets Hard Fought Win over RSE Elite
This was a tight one throughout that Oklahoma Power won by a final of 56-47. Inside it was Edmond North 2021 6’8” power forward Abraham Aghasedo that controlled the glass. Broad shouldered and physical post that finished through defenders inside. On the perimeter we liked what Edmond North 2021 5’11” guard Landry Harris brought to the table. Crafty scoring guard that scored off steals, got out in transition, and was a sound shooter. On the RSE side Curtis Rose of Carl Albert High School is a well-built guard that can score in the lane on floaters and put backs as well as hit an occasional three. His high school teammate 6’3” shooting guard Antonio Watson Antonio Watson 6'3" | PF Avon | 2021 State OK might have been the most projectable long term player on the floor. Long and lanky with athleticism. Gets to the line and finished in the pick/roll.
Tons of 2023 Talent on Display in Trae Young Elite vs PWP Black 15U
Wow talk about young up and coming talent. This game had just that. Trae Young Elite was paced by two forwards with upside. Brandon Garrison Brandon Garrison 6'8" | F Del City | 2023 OK is a long and lanky 6’8” four man that has mobility on the interior and runs the floor hard for points. Jaedon Foreman is another power forward. He is a stronger kid that was very effective on the offensive glass and made quick moves facing up inside 10 feet. On the PWP side they had an intriguing forward as well in Trent Pierce from Union. The combo forward opened up with a feathery three. Nimble footwork inside and caught passes on the move for scores. High pointed rebounds. Jenks shooting guard Dylan Golightly brings quality size and shooting to the table. Montae Collins of Memorial is a tough and crafty left handed guard that plays with flair. Good floater game for the young guard.
OK Flight 17U Squad Lights Out on Sunday
We caught OK Flight against PLUTO Prospects on Sunday afternoon and they were on fire! In a day and age where the three ball is everything this team exemplifies that. Yukon 6’3” shooting guard Colby Baker Colby Baker 6'3" | SF Yukon | 2021 State OK was probably the best of the three point threats. Good size and clean mechanics as he hit four of them in the first half alone. His high school teammate at Yukon Shannon Henthorn is a scoring 6’3” guard that can get buckets from multiple levels. Southwest Covenant 6’2” guard Kirk Cole was also a knock down shooter from three as well as inside the arc. Early in the second half it was the Jack Cole show. This Community Christian School 6’3” two guard is a creative ball handler that can score off the bounce as well as drill threes like all of his running mates. On the interior this team has a good one in Community Christian post Josh Martin. The 6’7” power forward is a high level rim protector and tough rebounder. Plays his role for this squad!
Trae Young Elite Wins 15U Title in Thriller vs Team Run
This was a great contest for the 15U championship! Trae Young Elite narrowly defeated Team Run 76-73. Jaedon Foreman was a force once again for Trae Young Elite. The powerful forward plays with such a high motor. He was all over the glass, finished dump offs inside and drilled a couple threes. The top prospect we saw at the event was 6’8” Del City center Brandon Garrison. Long and lanky post is primed to be a national type recruit in 2023. Big time shot blocking presence and rebounds well high pointing them in traffic. Quick hook shots and put backs were how he got most of his points. Justin Ayubi is a thick bodied guard that can shoot it from deep.
On the Team Run side of things their point guard Sebastian Perry jumped off the floor with his athleticism and speed. Playmaking guard from Heritage Hall is a 6’1” guard with a shifty handle weaving in and out of the defense. Took it coast to coast on several occasions. Gets to the foul line. Casady 6’4” shooting guard Zac Dunn is a tall wing with a plus shot from beyond the arc.
Team Buddy Buckets Takes Home 16U Crown in Nail Bitter vs Drive Nation Oklahoma
This one came down to the wire with both teams playing at a high level. Buddy Buckets won 60-58. Jenks 6’5” power forward Ben Averitt showed a lot of intriguing tools in this game. The 2022 face up four man can stretch the floor with his shooting, rim run, and crash the glass. Tuttle forward Tylon McCarthey proved to be a high motor player that got a lot of junk points off his energy. Putnam City West rangy wing Corey Gordon is a rangy wing that plays tough D and gets to the charity stripe on athletic takes. Reid Lovelace and Gabe Seat proved to be plus passers as they always are. On the Drive Nation Oklahoma squad Killian Spellman stepped up in a major way. The Memorial High School forward finished in the high/low game, rebounded, played tough D, and scored on drives from the mid-post. Tyreece Fierson was really good for Drive Nation Oklahoma. The dynamic point guard brings playmaking, athleticism, and scoring to the table. Hit contested pull ups and got to the rack off his handles. Also threw some excellent dishes off live dribbles.
