The NJ Summer Finale was a good event to end the season as it provided them with a chance to face off against good competition. The 2022 class is full of talented players and some of them displayed their talent at the NJ Summer Finale. Here are the 2022 players to watch from the NJ Summer Finale.
Omarion Jett-Dobbs Omarion Jett-Dobbs 6'2" | CG St. Benedict's | 2022 State NJ , 6’2 CG NJ Beasts 16U (Morris Catholic)
Jett-Dobbs was fun to watch at the NJ Summer Finale as he was relentless throughout the day. The 6’2 combo guard has a good handle and was routinely beating his defender off the bounce. Jett-Dobbs attacked the basket strong and is unafraid of drawing contact. He was tough to keep off the offensive glass and he blocked several shots. Jett-Dobbs’ ability to play on both ends of the floor makes him an intriguing guard to watch in the 2022 class.
Darren Tuck Darren Tuck 6'4" | SG St. Joe's Metuchen | 2022 State NJ , 6’4 SG NJ Panthers 16U (Immaculata)
Tuck has been one of the driving forces for the NJ Panthers 16U team and it was the same at the NJ Summer Finale. The 6’4 shooting guard attacked the basket hard and was able to finish around the rim. Tuck was at his best in transition as he was putting pressure on the opposing defense. He has a nice release on his jumper and is an underrated passer. Tuck is a skilled guard prospect who should have a big impact for Immaculata this season.
Sean Logan Sean Logan 6'10" | PF Westfield | 2022 State NJ , 6’9 PF Unity Legends 16U (Westfield)
Logan had a good showing at the NJ Summer Finale as he proved he could have a breakout junior season. The lanky 6’9 forward is a big-time shot-blocker who can swat almost everything around the basket. Logan has a nice touch around the basket and has a good release on his jumper. He ripped down rebounds and ran the floor well. Logan is an intriguing forward prospect who has the opportunity to burst onto the scene in 2020-21.
Nicholas (Niko) Barnes Nicholas (Niko) Barnes 6'4" | CG Compass Prep | 2023 State NJ , 6’4 CG Pure Basketball (Edison)
Barnes played with both the Pure Basketball 16U and 17U teams, but the step up in competition did not faze him. The 6’4 combo guard played with composure on the ball and used his handle to break down his defender. Barnes can finish around the basket and was unafraid to draw contact. He made good passes throughout both days and caused disruptions on the defensive end. Barnes is a talented prospect who should be one of the better guards in the GMC.
Matt Hanley, 6’6 SF/PF Jersey Force 16U (Monsignor Farrell NY)
Hanley has been a play-maker for the Jersey Force 16U team down low and that did not change at the NJ Summer Finale. The 6’6 forward made several tough layups down low and has a nice touch around the basket. Hanley has a nice release on his jumper and knocked down a couple of jumpers from around the basket. He ripped down rebounds throughout the day and played solid post defense. Hanley is a skilled forward prospect who should have a big junior campaign.
