After our series of articles on the Class of 2021 who should be valued, we now shift our attention to those in the Class of 2022 and those that need to be on the radar of college coaches.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these juniors the attention of prospective college coaches.
Josh Dix Josh Dix 6'5" | SG Council Bluffs Lincoln | 2022 State #149 Nation IA – Council Bluffs Lincoln
He is already on the radar of many, but Council Bluffs Lincoln’s Josh Dix Josh Dix 6'5" | SG Council Bluffs Lincoln | 2022 State #149 Nation IA could be in store for even more attention these next two years.
Dix holds a handful of offers at the moment at the Div. I level including from the University of Northern Iowa. And for good reason after averaging 17.5 points per game last year for the Lynx.
Dix shot 52.5 percent from the field, nearly 40 percent from the three-point line and 78 percent at the free throw stripe. All that added up to 384 points with 112 rebounds, 47 assists, 37 steals and 25 blocks for the unbeaten conference champions.
Keeon Hutton Keeon Hutton 6'3" | SG Sioux City West | 2022 KS – Sioux City West
You want your point guard to be able to facilitate the offense, score when needed and limit turnovers. That is exactly what Keeon Hutton Keeon Hutton 6'3" | SG Sioux City West | 2022 KS did for Sioux City West last winter.
Hutton recorded 177 points with 53 assists and just 16 turnovers in 23 games. He also had 64 rebounds, 16 steals and even blocked a couple of shots.
The Wolverines went 11-12 overall, falling in a close one to Fort Dodge in the Class 4A substate quarterfinals.
Jacob Imming Jacob Imming 6'2" | SF Sergeant Bluff-Luton | 2022 IA – Sergeant Bluff-Luton
It is always a benefit for Sergeant Bluff-Luton to play in a league with Class 4A teams. While the record might not shine, the grind pays off in the postseason.
Last year, that resulted in an incredible run straight to the Class 3A state championship game where they were clipped by Norwalk, 70-68.
Daniel Wright Daniel Wright 6'8" | PF Sergeant Bluff-Luton | 2020 State IA and a handful of other seniors are gone from that team, but Class of 2022 prospect Jacob Imming Jacob Imming 6'2" | SF Sergeant Bluff-Luton | 2022 IA will take on a bigger role this season.
Imming scored 167 points with 104 rebounds, 32 assists and 13 steals last year.
Brady Williams – LeMars
LeMars won 15 games and placed third behind Council Bluffs Lincoln and Sioux City East in the Missouri River Conference last year.
Brady Williams was a key player off the bench for the Bulldogs, who graduated five seniors. Williams scored 118 points with 26 of his made field goals coming from the three-point line.
He also had 39 rebounds, 16 assists and 14 steals.
Austin Schubert – Council Bluffs Jefferson
Three key seniors graduate from Council Bluffs Jefferson, but the Yellow Jackets have Class of 2022’s Austin Schubert back to help fill the void.
Schubert is coming off a sophomore campaign that saw him scored 78 points with 63 rebounds, 12 assists and 12 steals. He shot over 43 percent from the floor and got to the free throw line 30 times.
