Here were some of the guys who looked good:
BJ Hollowell, 4:13 Hoops
Hollowell is a bulldog of a defender. He plays a lot bigger than his listed 5-foot-7 height, and does a great job harassing opposing ballhandlers all over the floor. He’s hard to screen, and he was very good at limiting dribble penetration. Offensively, he’s got some work to do when it comes to recognizing when to shoot and when to distribute, but he’s an aggressive slasher who can score in the mid-range and blow by primary defenders.
Donnavin Hinsz Donnavin Hinsz 6'6" | PF Columbia Heights | 2022 State MN , The Next Level Basketball Academy
Hinsz was a beast on both ends of the floor Saturday, serving as a primary playmaker and scorer on the offensive end of the floor, while protecting the paint and rebounding at a high level defensively. With his team running a decent amount of zone in the early game, Hinsz was either in the middle of the paint or on one of the wings, so he wasn’t tasked with chasing around perimeter players much, but his length and quickness are definite assets on the perimeter. The Moorhead High School product is an advanced playmaker who has terrific size (6-foot-5) and a smooth mid-range game.
Quinten Snell Quinten Snell 6'0" | SG Shakopee | 2022 State MN , Fury Narum
Snell looked excellent for Fury Narum Saturday, showing the ability to put pressure on the defense with his attack while also serving as a threat to score from deep. He’s a quick, explosive combo guard who seemingly gets in the paint and does a great job either finishing or finding teammates for easy shots.
Noah Karchnik, D1 MN Prospects
Karchnik had a lot of really good moments Saturday for D1 MN Prospects on both ends of the floor. He’s a big, strong guard who did a good job fighting over screens and contesting shots on the perimeter, while also closing off driving lanes. And on the offensive end, he uses his strength to bully defenders on drives, and he’s a creative finisher and unselfish passer.
Omarion Miller, 4:13 Hoops
Miller is an athletic wing who provided great energy on both ends of the floor. His defensive intensity provided a big boost for his team, as he’s aggressive pressing the passing lanes and has the quickness and length to bother guys looking for a shot. He didn’t get a lot of touches offensively, but did a great job cutting, getting his hands on offensive rebounds and attacking hard closeouts on ball-reversals.
