Phoenix Bullock (Illinois Stars)
This Curie 6’1” wing put his name on our radar with a strong performance in their opener on Saturday. He was aggressive off the dribble looking to get to the rim where he was often fouled. Also hit a three. Has some potential as a combo guard scorer.
Chris Hammonds (Illinois Jaguars)
Speaking of CPS guards this is another one! Hammonds is a 6’3” two guard from Lincoln Park. Long and lanky wing that rebounded at a high rate flying in from the perimeter snatching boards in traffic. Flashed a mid-range jumper as well.
Kennon Cook (Windy City All-Stars)
Cook is a big bodied 6’3” small forward that rebounded against taller opponents with his physicality. Best getting downhill where the lefty finished with runners or layups. Also worked well as a small ball four in the pick/roll.
Alec Golembiewski (Windy City All-Stars)
The Genoa Kingston 6’0” point guard is a plus three point threat that was on fire for the Windy City All-Stars in their game we saw. Crisp and concise shot mechanically.
Mikey Brown (The Work Foundation)
Brown is a bowling ball of a guard at 5’10” that can really play. He is going to be an impactful player this season for Bloom with the graduation of all of their guards. Strong frame and can take a bump in the paint. Excellent pull up shooter that connected from both three and mid-range. Passes well off a live dribble and working in the pick/roll. Active on ball defender.
Haden Case ( Archangels )
Case could turn into a small ball four man at the D3 level. At 6’4” he brings mobility and skill down low. Turnaround jumper from the paint was effective. Solid offensive rebounder.
Marcus Overstreet (Illinois Jaguars)
Overstreet might have been the biggest breakout 2022 prospect of the weekend. The Whitney Young 6’8” center was playing up on the 17U level and more than held his own. He has a lot of tools to work with. Had a couple of finishes, hit a baseline jumper, and shot faked his defender before going by him. Runs the floor with ease and is a shot blocking presence. Rebounded well in his area. Looking forward to watching more tape of this big man!
Damahrion Murrell (Chicago Impact)
Murrell is small at only 5’5”, but this kid is fun to watch. Plays with speed pushing it in the open floor. The fast guard won off the bounce and is a sound pull up shooter.
Dakari Presley (Chicago Impact)
This Proviso East 5’7” point guard was most effective in transition using his jets to get to the rim. Also was an active defender that turned defense into offense in a hurry!
Trey Keizer Trey Keizer 6'2" | SG Timothy Christian | 2022 State IL (HIT)
Keizer is a 6’2” two guard that can shoot it from three. The Timothy Christian guard is one to track this season!
