Jaden Harris Jaden Harris 6'3" | CG Norcross | 2021 State GA (Team Huncho 17U, PG, 6-3, Norcross, pictured above) – Among best players I saw all weekend, speedy with ball, A+ handle, strong frame makes him a tough guard, all the offensive tools to beat you from a variety of spots on the floor, terrific driver with a nose for scoring at the lead guard spot, excellent defender with solid instincts, a sleeper of sorts on the scene whose play for Huncho will certainly vault him in our rankings and catch eyeball, will be fascinating to see what he does out front with a Blue Devils squad which still has plenty of talent on hand.
Jalen DeLoach (Team Huncho 17U, SF, 6-7, TSF) – Headed to prep school, already has a ton of skill and athletic ability which has brought him multiple D-1 offers, can face-up and knock down the J all the way out to the arc, has an array of offensive moves closer to the basket putting it on the deck or catching it on the block, superior leaping ability makes him a potent rebounder at both ends, athletic gifts means he can guard 4 spots.
Andrew McConnell Andrew McConnell 6'0" | PG Lanier | 2021 State GA (Team Huncho 17U, SG, 6-1, Lanier) – Certainly among the ATL-metro’s best shooters, absolute confidence from beyond the arc with a great-looking stroke, equally adept in the mid-range, more than just a spot-up shooter he’s shown a bit more off the dribble this summer which is scary, plenty strong enough at 6-1 to translate to the next level, will be the focal point for the Longhorns with Sion James Sion James 6'5" | PG Lanier | 2020 State GA moving on.
Dylan Wolle Dylan Wolle 6'3" | SG Sequoyah | 2022 State GA (Georgia Legacy 16U, SG, 6-3, Sequoyah) – Wolle finds himself on yet another superlatives list, put up two of the weekend’s best offensive performances with 37 points backed up by 38 more, as noted he’s added to his lethal shooting with a dribble-drive game which was on display pulling up in the mid-range or getting all the way to the basket, with his improved physical stature you can’t sleep on his defense and how that added strength has upped his game at that end.
Braden Pierce Braden Pierce 6'11" | C River Ridge | 2022 State GA (Georgia Legacy 16U, 6-10, C, River Ridge) – With all the focus on guard play as it always seems we can’t not mention the incredible development of Pierce in the pivot, hard work, superior coaching at Legacy and plenty of minutes have really taken this big man to another level, has added a variety of moves from the block and improved his shooting touch out to 15 feet, already was a devastating rebounder and rim protector at his size, together with the offensive improvements has taken a giant leap and Legacy’s terrific summer of success on the circuit has only amplified his upward move.
Jax Bouknight Jax Bouknight 6'1" | PG Blessed Trinity Catholic | 2021 State GA (Atlanta T-Wolves White 17U, CG, 6-1, Blessed Trinity) – Another regular on superlative lists this grassroots season (along with teammate Brendan Rigsbee Brendan Rigsbee 6'2" | CG North Gwinnett | 2021 State GA of North Gwinnett, who’s been spectacular all summer doing it all from the off-guard spot), Bouknight was particularly impressive in the Showcase again displaying all kinds of athleticism and court savvy playing both guard spots, can absolutely stroke it from deep but has a real knack for getting at the rim be off the break or the dribble, just sneakily beats you like all of the T-Wolves seemingly do nearly every time out, like Rigsbee a tremendous get for a college seeking uber versatility and sound basketball in their backcourt.
Devin McGlockton Devin McGlockton 6'7" | PF South Forsyth | 2021 State GA (Georgia Select All-Stars 17U, PF, 6-5, South Forsyth) – Playing with a Select group filled with notables McGlockton has been a standout the last few tournaments, again displaying his terrifically versatile skill-set with a potent deep shooting game combined with plenty of craftiness near the basket, smart rebounder with awesome hands, can handle the ball on the break or run the lane, in a game where Team Huncho controlled the action he showed no back-down and was a match for the deep Huncho frontcourt, has surely been on the radar of next-level teams and that will only continue this winter.
