The start of August means that the summer season is almost over and school will start soon. AAU teams are getting games, which provides opportunities for players to shine. Jersey Force hosted a slate of scrimmages yesterday, which was filled with big-time talent. Some players elevated their games during the day and had strong performances during the scrimmages. Here are the top standouts from the Jersey Force scrimmages.
, 6’1 PG Jersey Force Select (St.Joseph Hammonton) 2021
Pierce was fantastic throughout the day as he was the top guard of the day. The 6’1 guard was basically unstoppable off the bounce as he got to the rim with ease. Pierce finished almost everything around the basket as he made a couple of tough layups through traffic. He was in attack mode all game and did not take a play off when he was on the floor. Pierce’s ability to attack the basket makes him a strong scoring option for the Jersey Force Select team.
, 6’7 SF/PF Jersey Force Elite (Dumont) 2021
Barlow had a strong showing over the two games, solidifying his status as a Division I player. The athletic 6’7 wing attacked the basket hard and finished around the basket. Barlow showed off a nice touch around the rim and handled the ball well on the perimeter. He skied for rebounds on both ends of the floor and was dominant all day. Barlow is a big-time prospect who should continue to have a good season with Jersey Force Elite.
Patrick Murray, 6’3 SG East Coast Cyclones (Red Bank Regional) 2022
Murray played big for the Cyclones during the day as he showed his ability to score the ball. The 6’3 guard was hard to contain off the dribble and was able to finish around the rim. Murray shot the ball with confidence and wasted little movement in his release. He made good decisions with the ball in his hands and played solid defense. Murray is a good guard prospect who should continue to play well for the East Coast Cyclones.
Kaheim Kimbrough-Roach, 6’6 SF D-1 Dynasty (Woodbridge (DE)) 2021
Kimbrough-Roach was everywhere for D-1 Dynasty as he made plays on both ends of the floor. The 6’6 swingman attacked the basket hard and was able to finish through contact. Kimbrough-Roach played tough defense and used his length to block shots. His attitude is infectious as he was always smiling and cheering on his teammates during the day. Kimbrough-Roach is the high energy player that gives everything he has to D-1 Dynasty when he’s on the floor.
, 6’2 CG Keyport Jersey Shore Predators (Keyport) 2022
Thomson had a strong performance at the scrimmages, proving why he is one of the top rising juniors in the Shore Conference. The 6’2 combo guard attacked the basket with a purpose as he made tough layups and drew contact frequently. Thomson pushed the tempo in transition and made good decisions with the ball in his hands. He played solid on-ball defense and moved well without the ball. Thomson is a tough guard prospect who should continue to play well for the Jersey Shore Predators this summer.
