Anthony Arrington Anthony Arrington 6'2" | SG Galloway | 2022 State #241 Nation GA (D-Favors Celtics 16U, CG, 6-4, Galloway, pictured above) – I can easily make the argument that Arrington was the best player I saw all weekend in either tournament going on, he was simply spectacular against a really strong Atlanta All-Stars group with plenty of risers of their own, he scored from everywhere whether he was running the point with his advanced handle or attacking without peer from the wing, there wasn’t a shot he couldn’t get for himself or execute with high-level ability, I saw him last Christmas at Holy Innocents’ and was very impressed but he has taken his body and game to another level, a big remaining summer and coming winter will undoubtedly have his phone blowing up with offers.
Mason Lockhart Mason Lockhart 6'6" | PF Columbia | 2022 State GA (D-Favors Celtics 16U, PF, 6-6, Carver) – The best frontcourt performer I saw Friday night, Lockhart was just about un-containable in close and did it against one of the bigger frontlines on the circuit in the All-Stars, great hands and footwork, has a real understanding of the post-game be playing with his back to the basket or facing up from 10 feet and in, he was also an exceptional rim protector with great timing off the floor, unquestioned attention-grabbing ability but will be interesting to see if at that middle-sized 6-6 he can add more in the face-up shooting category to possibly attract more offers.
Mitchell Taylor Mitchell Taylor 6'2" | PG Westlake | 2022 State GA (D-Favors Celtics 16U, CG, 6-2, Carver) – A very fluid mover, Mitchell made for an outstanding complement to Arrington, he got out on the break alongside him and spotted up nicely from the arc, but he was able to create his own offense from the wing and has PG ability if called upon for sure, moves on the court with a nice understanding of spacing and attacks the basket with a polished scorer’s mentality.
Justin Stanley (Bostic Next Level 15U, CG, 6-0, Wilkerson County) – Love seeing the south GA kids come up to ATL and make noise, Stanley was very impressive in the sophomore-to-be group, a true combo guard he played the point predominantly but slid over to the wing and did plenty of damage from long range as well as driving it with confidence and creativity, doesn’t matter where he is on the floor he has the handle to control the tempo and the offensive chops to score from multiple levels.
Omarion Lowe (Bostic Next Level 15U, SG, Mary Persons) – Lowe found his comfort zone on the wing where he showed both impressive range as well as proficiency from deep, a good ballhandler he took some pressure off Stanley, excellent athlete and defender, surely one of the better shooters in the Macon area on the way up.
Thomas Malcolm Thomas Malcolm 6'2" | SF Providence Christian Academy | 2023 State GA (Reach Higher Kings 15U, 6-2, CG, Providence Christian) – The Kings didn’t have their best stuff against Bostic, but Malcolm had an ease to his game that jumped out, he possesses a solid handle which allows him to run the point, but I liked how when needed he slid over to the wing and upped his offensive aggressiveness, fluid and confident stroke from out past the arc he’ll make an interesting option for the Storm this winter with some of the rising talent on that roster ahead of him.
