James White James White 6'5" | SG Heritage-Conyers | 2021 State #182 Nation GA (Game Elite 3SSB 17U, SG, 6-3, Heritage-Conyers) – Already among the ATL-Metro’s most feared 2021 scorers, he has taken his scoring game to the next level, adding to his nearly unlimited range an assertive and surprisingly physical (for a slight-framed prospect) dribble-drive game to the basket that was on display against GA Canes, D-1 programs have been hot on his track this summer and surely this new angle to his game is among the key reasons.
Christian Wright Christian Wright 6'4" | PG TSF | 2021 State GA (Game Elite 3SSB 17U, PG, 6-4, TSF) – So physical is Wright, each time I’ve seen Game Elite my eyes are drawn to the work Wright does with the ball and without, he guards it as well as anyone on the scene and with a college-ready body he makes it tough on anyone opposite him, his offensive game may not possess a ton of flash but that doesn’t mean it isn’t effective from all 3 levels, a fine outside shooting touch both deep and in the mid-range combines well with an explosive dribble drive game that rises above or goes through defenders.
Chris Cole Chris Cole 6'6" | SG Brookwood | 2021 State GA (Team Forrest 17U, SF, 6-6, Brookwood) – While watching Aim High get the better of Team Forrest on that day it was hard to miss Cole’s work at both ends, terrific versatility offensively, be it running the floor for some athletic and explosive finishes or driving it off the bounce from the wing, Cole was impressive and at a physical 6-6 he most importantly can guard all the way up through the 4-spot making him a fascinating prospect who’s skill-set will draw in multiple levels of attention.
Chase Cormier Chase Cormier 6'2" | PG Milton | 2022 State GA (Game Elite Big 5 16U, CG, 6-0, Greenforest) – What’s interesting to me is that with the indomitable Scoot Henerson also on the club it’s still easy to find Cormier on the floor because of how well he gets things done, an exquisite handle allows him to loosen up defenses, shifty speed and a real scorer’s mentality allows him to take over games in spurts, but he can step back and play the lead guard role with relaxed ease and poise, he occupies a high spot in our 2022 rankings already but is unquestionably one of the top guards in the state with an ability to attract a multitude of offers.
Jens Rueckert Jens Rueckert 6'4" | SF South Cobb | 2021 State GA (GA Canes 17U, 6-4, SF, South Cobb) – Transferring in to South Cobb this fall will undoubtedly get this explosive leaper plenty of attention with their roster of high-level notables, Rueckert has been one of my favorite characters this summer, grabs your attention not just because of the way he pesters and gets in your head and gets under the skin of anyone he’s up against but possesses plenty of game to back it up, right now his damage is in closer to the bucket but he has enough of a jump shot to make defenders worried about being posterized honest, recruiters will love his unmatched athletic ability even if the consistent shooting from deep-range might not be fully tuned yet.
DeAndre Smart (AC Georgia 17U, 6-5, PF, New Hampstead) – Recently aboard from Savannah Select, Smart may have made a wise choice to try and stand out in the ATL market because he did right off, very athletic 4-man who can run the floor, block shots and clean the glass with great rise and instincts, big enough to defend taller players, he didn’t have to score a lot in the game with Upward Stars Select out of SC to be noticeable.
