After our series of articles on the Class of 2021 who should be valued, we now shift our attention to those in the Class of 2022 and those that need to be on the radar of college coaches.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these juniors the attention of prospective college coaches.
Jevin Sullivan Jevin Sullivan 6'5" | SG North Polk | 2022 State IA – North Polk
By the end of the season, North Polk was putting together some quality victories. The Comets pushed ADM to the distance in a substate quarterfinal, and with Class of 2022 prospect Jevin Sullivan Jevin Sullivan 6'5" | SG North Polk | 2022 State IA returning, hope is high.
Sullivan scored almost 20 points per game last year to lead North Polk, adding six rebounds a night. He shot 47.6 percent from the field, 38 percent from the three-point line and almost 75 percent at the free throw stripe.
In all, Sullivan scored 414 points with 125 rebounds, 25 assists, 13 steals and 54 made triples.
Bryce Stalder – Greene County
With the graduation of seven seniors, Greene County will need its underclassmen to fill some major holes in 2020-21.
Class of 2022’s Bryce Stalder looks ready to fill those voids after posting 181 points with 50 assists, 43 rebounds and 30 steals last year.
Stalder shot almost 35 percent from the field and made 29 three-pointers. With a little more consistency across the board, his numbers should see a big uptick.
Durant VanDyke – Monroe-PCM
Monroe-PCM scratched its way to a winning season, going 12-11 before falling in a substate quarterfinal. The Mustangs lose two key senior starters from the group, but return Durant VanDyke and a handful of others.
VanDyke, a Class of 2022 prospect, accounted for 170 points and 113 rebounds last year. He knocked down almost 43 percent of his shots, adding 31 assists, 23 blocks and 12 steals.
Camden Lo – Saydel
Despite being just a sophomore, Camden Lo was excellent at running the Saydel offense last season.
Lo posted 72 assists, averaging over four per night and had a strong assist-to-turnover ratio. He also scored 141 points with 36 rebounds and 21 steals in 17 games, knocking down 15 three-pointers.
Ty Dittmer – Nevada
Nevada reached the Class 3A substate semifinals before falling to Norwalk, playing the eventual state champions even over the final two quarters.
The Cubs, though, lose four key regulars from a year ago. That means Class of 2022’s Ty Dittmer will be expected to fill a bigger role.
Dittmer played in all 24 games a year ago, scoring 111 points with 53 rebounds, 43 assists and 16 steals. He shot almost 40 percent from the field and 32 percent from the three-point line, knocking down 71 percent of his free throws.
