Christian Bento Christian Bento 6'11" | C Bishop Gorman | 2021 NV 6’11 C Bishop Gorman 2021 (#60PHN 2021) – Size is certainly something that can’t be taught, however I thought Bento showed more than that this weekend. He played with energy and aggression and was effective protecting the rim and grabbing in traffic rebounds.
Dominque Clifton Dominque Clifton 6'2" | SG Eldorado | 2021 State NV 6’2 SG Hard 2 Guard (#66PHN 2021) – Clifton is one of my state sleepers. Once a game he’s good for a spectacular play. He did that this weekend, but he also showed a willingness to do some dirty work, grabbing in traffic rebounds and scoring several tough buckets.
AJ Storr 6’6 SG LV Orange 2021 – Not sure if Storr is a sleeper or a stud. A natural scorer the 6’6 wing knocked down 3’s, scored in transition and had several above the rim finishes. The Illinois transfer should be a great edition to the state talent pool.
Jonathan Braggs Jonathan Braggs 6'3" | SG Bishop Gorman | 2021 State NV 6’3 SG LV Orange 2021 (#11PHN 2021) – When Braggs is good, he’s really good. A shooter with the ability to change the scoreboard in a hurry. Braggs also showed his versatility by defending multiple positions, handling the ball in the backcourt and rebounding in traffic.
Jonathan Dillard 6’5 SF 24/7 2022 – Dillard is a long rangy athlete that is under the radar. He has tremendous bounce and is fearless when attacking the rim. Still raw, however he has the prototypical size and length for a college wing and his explosive athleticism is jaw dropping.
Lenz Dupont 6’3 SG Supreme Court 2021 – I’ve seen Dupont the last two weekends and he hasn’t disappointed. A combo guard with the ability to score in transition, or get into the lane off the bounce Dupont was tremendous in leading SC to the semifinals of the elite bracket.
Tyus Parrish-Tillman 6’7 PF Everybody Eats 2022 (#50PHNC 2022) (featured imgage) – I have a feeling that coaches will be jumping on TPT very soon. He improved tremendously from the last time I saw him a year ago. He’s above average at almost every skill including rebounding, stretching the floor and rim protecting. Tillman showed good footwork along with a nice touch around the basket when completing his post moves.
Uriyah Rojas Uriyah Rojas 6'1" | PG Los Osos | 2021 State CA-S 6’1 SG Prodigy 2021 (#64PHSC 2021) – Everytime I looked up Rojas was knocking down a 3. It’s not a textbook stroke, but it’s effective. The combo guard made big shot after big shot all weekend leading Prodigy to the title. He averaged 17.5ppg in bracket play en route to being named Tournament MVP.
