Perennial state powers like Blair Academy, St. Benedict’s, Roselle Catholic and the Patrick School are all looking to continue their dominance in the Garden State. Fu4ure session featured some of the top talent in New Jersey, but it also provided a glimpse at the 2024 class.
Elliott Cadeau is one of the top incoming freshmen in the country and is looking to make an immediate impact with Bergen Catholic. The 6’2 combo guard is creative off the bounce and can create his own shot in the half court. Cadeau plays with extreme confidence and is unafraid of pulling up for three in transition. He is an athletic guard who can finish around the rim in multiple ways. Cadeau is a talented point guard prospect, but will have to play more off the ball for the Crusaders with Will Richardson Will Richardson 6'2" | PG Bergen Catholic | 2022 State #76 Nation NJ and Julian Brown Julian Brown 6'1" | PG Bergen Catholic | 2022 State NJ returning in the backcourt.
Naasir Cunningham Naasir Cunningham 6'7" | SF Southern California Academy | 2024 #41 Nation CA-S holds a pair of Division I offers and should slot in nicely to Gill St. Bernard’s lineup. The lanky 6’7 wing has a good handle and is capable of bringing the ball up the floor. Cunningham has a nice release on his shot and has a good fadeaway jumper. He can beat his defender off the bounce and can finish around the rim. Denver Anglin Denver Anglin 6'0" | PG Gill St. Bernard's | 2022 State #120 Nation NJ and Mackenzie Mgbako Mackenzie Mgbako 6'8" | SF Roselle Catholic | 2023 State #5 Nation NJ return for head coach Mergin Sina, which provides Cunningham a natural easing process into varsity basketball.
Tahaad Pettiford is a dynamic point guard prospect who should fit right into what Hudson Catholic likes to run on offense. The lefty guard is a crafty ball handler who knows how to create his own shot in the half court. Pettiford is a good finisher around the basket and knows how to push the pace in transition. He is more than just a slasher as his range starts once he crosses half court and is unafraid of pulling up in transition. The Hawks have to replace Zion Cruz and Phil Brown Phil Brown 6'4" | SG Hudson Catholic | 2021 CT , but Pettiford should fit right in with the team.
Pettiford was not the only Hudson Catholic freshman at the Fu4ure session as Alex Massang was there as well. He is lightning quick with the ball in his hands and is decisive going to the basket. Massang is a good passer and did well in the game sessions when he was pushing the ball in transition. He has a nice release on his shot and is capable of playing off the ball. Hudson Catholic returns a pair of good guards in Justin Glover Justin Glover 6'2" | SG Hudson Catholic | 2021 State NJ and Isaiah Griffin Isaiah Griffin 5'11" | PG Patrick School | 2023 KS who should be the perfect mentors to Massang.
Chris Ditrolio may not play for a big time high school next season, but he will definitely leave his mark in his first varsity season. He was the top shooter throughout the session as he could not miss during the games. Ditrolio wastes little motion in his release and gets his shot off quick. He sets his feet before every shot and moves well off the ball. Ditrolio joins a Roxbury that is looking to improve its 18-7 record from 2019-20.
The 2024 class has yet to play in a varsity game, but the potential is sky high and is one to watch for years to come.
