After our series of articles on the Class of 2021 who should be valued, we now shift our attention to those in the Class of 2022 and those that need to be on the radar of college coaches.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these juniors the attention of prospective college coaches.
Jonathan Beverly Jonathan Beverly 6'2" | SF Ames | 2022 IA – Des Moines Hoover
The top scorer in the Class of 2022 in the CIML Metro Conference last year was Jonathan Beverly Jonathan Beverly 6'2" | SF Ames | 2022 IA .
The Des Moines Hoover guard recorded 113 points in 18 games, making 15 starts. He also had 62 rebounds, 23 assists, 12 steals and blocked nine shots.
Beverly shot almost 41 percent from the field, over 72 percent from the free throw line and made 12 three-pointers.
Adam Greiner – Ottumwa
A combo guard-forward, Ottumwa’s Adam Greiner scored 85 points last year with 70 rebounds, 19 assists and 12 steals.
Greiner helped the Bulldogs win 13 games and pairs with talented Class of 2021 prospect Trae Swartz Trae Swartz 6'4" | SF Ottumwa | 2021 State IA . He shot over 45 percent from the floor and made nearly 70 percent of his free throw attempts.
Aidan Cord – Des Moines Lincoln
Des Moines Lincoln will need to replace a senior-dominated lineup, and they have a natural replacement for one of those spots in Aidan Cord.
The Class of 2022 Cord played in 14 games last year and made a couple of starts. He scored 78 points, knocking down 10 three-pointers and shooting over 47 percent from the field.
Cord also had 17 rebounds, nine steals and six assists.
Chevelle Ruchti – Des Moines Hoover
Another regular starter set to return for Des Moines Hoover is Class of 2022 player Chevelle Ruchti.
Ruchti is coming off a sophomore campaign in which he produced 88 rebounds to finish second on the Huskies. He also had 49 points, 13 blocks, eight assists and four blocks, shooting 54 percent from the floor.
Evan Wood – Des Moines East
Over the next few years, these are the names you will be hearing from out of the CIML Metro Conference.
Des Moines East has an intriguing prospect in Evan Wood. He checks in at 6-foot-5 and could become quite the force inside with a strong offseason.
Wood played in four games last year and recorded a handful of rebounds on the court.
