While, so much focus is heaped on the top of the rankings, the c/o 2021 has potential prospects littered throughout. In this article PH takes a look at some of the small college sleepers that schools may want to check out.
Lorenzo Abellar Lorenzo Abellar 5'8" | PG Liberty | 2021 State NV 5’8 PG Liberty (#15) – If Abellar were 4 inches taller, we would probably be talking about a D1 PG. A top notch on ball defender, that can also organizes and orchestrates the offense, Abellar would be the perfect 4 year starter for the right program.
Jaylen Berry Jaylen Berry 6'2" | PG Basic | 2021 State NV 6’2 PG Basic (#19) – This should have been a breakout summer for Berry. The rangy PG has the offensive skills to be dynamic, along with the defensive skills to cause havoc. While he hasn’t played for a while, I don’t think it will take much for coaches to recognize what they have, once he starts playing again.
Kentrell Wallace Kentrell Wallace 6'1" | SG Las Vegas | 2021 State NV 6’1 SG Las Vegas (#24) – Wallace is one of the more polarizing players in the city. When he’s on, he’s a dynamic scoring guard that can get his in transition, behind the line and off the dribble. I could actually see him as a guy that goes on to become a team scoring leader for the right program.
Zach Jefferson Zach Jefferson 6'2" | SG Shadow Ridge | 2021 State NV 6’2 CG Shadow Ridge (#31) – Jefferson is another polarizing guy, that is phenomenal when he’s on. I think his versatility is probably his best skill, and it translates to a college level. He needs more consistency in his shooting, but he has a chance to be a quality player for the right school.
Isaiah Duve Isaiah Duve 6'1" | CG Galena | 2021 State NV 6’0 CG Galena (#35) (featured image) – One of my favorite players to watch! Duve plays with a quiet confidence. While he may be undersized to play the 2, his quick burst and wiggle allows him to get into the lane. His shot making includes the ability to get runners and floaters up over bigs.
Jackson Cherry Jackson Cherry 6'4" | SG Galena | 2021 State NV 6’4 SG Galena (#25) – Galena better make some noise this year. IMO they have 4 players with the ability to play basketball at the college level. Cherry is one of those four. A good outside shooter, with prototypical size for a college wing, if the right coach lays eyes on him at the right time and they’re going to fall in love with his game.
